Need some help - Boy names

So this is actually my first discussion post but we are completely at a block as to what to name this little one. Here is where we are at and I am looking to you for your wonderful input. I have been lurking around other posts and enjoy the feedback you give other expectant mothers.
OK here goes:

Owen - We like it because of the Owain (Welsh form of Eugene - my grandfather's name)

Brody - We have a daughter Brooke so to me it is a little too matchy/matchy - Husband loves it though

Ronald - My Dad

Charles - The man I call my "2nd Dad"

John or Joseph - Husband's grandfather

Giovanni - Italian form of John

Nolan - Just always have liked it - no particular reason

Hawk - Sounds dumb but it is a play off my maiden name - Husband loves Brody Hawk

So that's it - last name is Italian and starts with an R. Husband thinks like a mean middle-school bully and doesn't want the kid to get teased with the initials B.J. so that variation is out.

Thanks ladies (and gentleman if any out there) for all the help! :)

I'm not going to be much help because I think you have a viable reason for loving all of the names you have - and they are all good names.

I always thought Giovanni was the Italian version of John though. Giuseppe is Joseph, isn't it?

    Owen Giuseppe is my pick

  • Thanks everyone for keeping me straight! Yes, it is John - Don't know why I put Joseph. Sorry about that...chalk it up to the pregnancy brain. His grandfather's name was John Joseph.

  • Don't like Hawk, at all. Brody is too close to Brooke. Something about Giovanni with a Welsh name like Owen looks a tad "off" to me. The others are all fine.

Based on looks/sound alone, I would vote Owen Charles or Nolan Charles. But if the other names carry more significance for you, Ronald and Joseph make good middle names also.

    This!
  • Owen Charles sounds the best to me personally, but I also like Owen Ronald.
