Hi Friends

My name is Brittany and I am new to The Bump, but not infertility. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since October 2011. I have been diagnosed with endometriosis and one blocked tube. My husband was tested the summer of 2012 and was fine, but is being retested this week. I've done several rounds of femara, clomid, progesterone, trigger shots and so much more! It's overwhelming. Just this past week I think it's finally hit me that I actually have fertility problems. I've been in denial this whole time, which I consider a blessing. We are now at a crossroads....I know it is time to see a specialist, but it is so expensive! We will need to really start saving. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and hopefully find a place where I can come vent or cry to my virtual friends who I know are going through a similar situation! :)

    Welcome! Yes, REs can be expensive (depending on your insurance coverage or lack thereof), but the good ones are worth their weight in gold! They're much better equipped to diagnose and treat fertility issues, so you'll be in good hands :) Good luck!

    Me: 33, Autoimmune (Hashimotos and FMS/CFS)
    Treated with Synthroid, acupuncture, TCM and supplements
    DH: 33, MFI (very low on all counts, high antibodies, hemochromatosis)
    Many treatments tried, none successful

    IVF/ICSI #1 05/14 - EPP/Antagonist, Gonal-F and Luveris, 18R, 14M, 13F - SET of 1BC, all arrested on day 5 - C/P
    Genetic testing = normal, DNA Frag = excellent
    IVF #2 03/15 - Long protocol with Suprefact, Gonal-F, and possibly Luveris, adding in PICSI

    DX: MFI-Very Low Count, I have Hashimotos.
    IVF prep September 2013 cancelled due to Ovarian Cyst
    IVF #1 October 2013 Antagonistic Protocol with ICSI  ER 10/31/13 (18R 16M 11F- 6 blasts to freeze)
    ET delayed due to OHSS 
    FET scheduled for July 8. Delayed due to a crazy high TSH (it had been under control for YEARS!)
    FET #1 8/5/14 sET BFN

    Hi Brittany, I'm sorry for your struggle. I also have endometriosis had the surgery, lupron, two rounds of IUI and now on my second round of IVF. I have had that moment where you realize you have infertility and it sucks. The worst part is that most people just don't know what to say and give horrible advice. My favorite bad advice was that i needed to have my husband hold me upside down by my legs then I will get pregnant.     @angjohns99 haha! The advice others give is really the best! It's crazy how people think they know everything. I've had several people tell me to just relax and it will happen! Well guess what...endometriosis doesn't just go away when I relax! ;) Thanks for the laugh. Good luck to you too! :)
