As one of the youngest LO on the board (12/27), Lauren is only 9 days in, but it's getting worse every day. Just looking for some hope that it *will* eventually end!

Re: How long did the 4 month sleep regression last

  • Also still happening. Started at 3.5 months. DD is 5 months

  • Couple of weeks and it wasn't bad, just woke up twice sometimes instead of the normal once which was annoying but not the end of the world. He's been STTN for the past few weeks.

I'm still watching for it. DS2 was born 12/26. He had a few bad nights, but I was also trying to deswaddle so I don't see it related to 4mw. I swaddled again tge last couple nights & last night he stayed down til I came to get him up. I'm pausing the deswaddle process for now & probably come back to it in another week or so.

  • I'm going to say about 6 weeks. It started before he was actually 4 mos and is just now showing signs of receding. The last 3 nights we finally had almost 5 hr stretches, up from a max of 3 hrs. He just turned 5 mos on Saturday.

@jen4033 maybe its a 12/26 baby thing and we'll get lucky! No sign of it yet for us!

Lets hope that is true!! I don't recall DS1 ever going through it, but I may not have realized it either. It was around 4mo old that he started STTN in the first place. DS1 was always a good strong sleeper. DS2 however, seems to keep me on my toes doing everything different than his brother did. It is like being a FTM all over again LOL!

My 12/26 baby hasn't hit a regression yet!

However, DS1 went through it and pretty much never stopped. He's 2 and still doesn't STTN.

Either my kid is late to the party or I'm super lucky because he's still STTN. He's not even 4.5 months though so I'm just waiting for it to happen.

Mine started right at 4.5 months...

@MamaCBear‌ my 12/26 baby had a 4 MW. But there was only a couple bad nights. Now we're working on STTN again. (And by that I mean 8 hours)

SS My kid always slept like shit so I'm not sure if it happened or not. Did sleep training a week ago at 4.5 months and it's been fine since.

What did you do? I need tips. Anja has actually slept really well since we realized that she wasn't getting enough calories and started supplementing. The problem is, she sleeps well in the rnp, not the crib. I really need to do something.
S still sleeps in the rnp too. She's probably 18 lbs so I need to transfer her to the pnp. I'm scared she won't sttn if I do it. I don't know if there's a weight limit in the rnp so I might need to figure it out quick.

  • For us it lasted about 3 weeks, from 4mos to 4 mos 3 weeks. LO woke up at 3 and 6 am to nurse every night. It was enough to screw up my supply. She is 5 mos 2 weeks and sttn now.

  • I think it was only a couple weeks but she was sick and congested for about a week too so it's hard to say exactly how long it was. She slowly worked her way back to sttn again. I've determined there's no rhyme or reason to babies sleeping - they do what they want :p
  • It was just a couple of days of not napping.  Night sleep never got affected.

We have this problem too. Screams bloody murder as soon as we start to lower him in the crib. We tried CIO, but that only seemed to make it worse. Not sure what to do now.

  • DD2 has been all over the place since she was born.  Just how she is--so I don't really know what a 4 month regression would have been for her.

  • Mine started on the night of the 4 month vaccines and is still going on 2 weeks later. He sttn since about 2 months until then.
