Cloth Diapering

I have a potentially stupid question

I was thinking today, as I was prepping my Charlie Bananas, that if I were to put them on the lowest rise (with the bra strap adjustment thingy), would I need to undo the rise to wash and stuff them or do you just leave the rise as is until they grow into the next rise? I was worried that washing when the bra strap rise was pulled would make the elastic go lax.

I don't have any CBs, but I do have SoftBums which have adjustable elastic.  I never undo it to wash.  Mine have been in heavy rotation for 18 months & the elastic is still going strong.

  • I heard you leave it hooked, but sometimes they come undone in the wash so you may have to check.

  • I have been using our CBs for nearly 2 years. I never adjust the rise elastic until DS gets big enough for a larger setting. The bra strap thingies have never moved on their own, and I haven't noticed any major relaxing in the elastic. (It is possible that there is some since we've used them for so long, but if there is, it hasn't bothered the function of the diapers yet.)

  • Leave them. The elastic isn't staying pulled tight.

  • Thanks guys. I'll just remember to ensure they are completely dry before stuffing so I don't mess them up. Also those bad boys seem to dry pretty quickly so that's nice.
