Where can I buy RRLT?

I've looked at a couple stores for Red Raspberry Leaf Tea and couldn't find any. I don't really want to buy it online (but will if I have to). Has anyone had any luck finding it at a store?

(BTW I wasn't sure where to post this so sorry in advance if I should have posted somewhere else!)

Re: Where can I buy RRLT?

  • I just got some at Target the other day when grocery shopping!

At least...I think it's the right stuff...the box says "Raspberry Leaf Tea" not "Red Raspberry Leaf Tea"...is there a difference?

  • I bought mine from the Vitamin Shoppe, but I have also seen it in the natural foods/organic section of my local grocery stores.

Somewhere like Whole Foods or the Natural Foods section of your grocery store.  @lalala8 - you can start now.  The recommendation is to start with a cup and bump up to 4 as you near your due date.  I drank a ton last time - can't say that it helped but it doesn't hurt so why not ;)

Looks like yogi tea brand makes one, just ordered some from amazon. Haven't tried it yet but reviews sounded ok.
  • I asked my doctor at my last appointment.  She suggested not to start drinking it until 36 or 38 weeks.

  • CDK211- I've heard that it can cause contractions.  I believe someone in the Newbie thread actually mentioned that it worked a little too well for them.  Either way, my doctor was erring on the side of caution.  I have an appointment tomorrow with another doctor in the practice.  I will get more information.

  • related but unrelated - is this recommended for c sections too?

@kittenslove‌ I can't say for sure as I have no experience using the tea in the first place... BUT considering it's used for toning the uterine muscles to make contractions more effective, I'd assume it's probably pointless to take if you're having a c section.... someone correct me if I'm wrong but that seems like a logical response to me.
  • I was given the green light to drink 1-2 cups a day starting at 28 weeks, and could increase to 3-4 cups a day at 34 weeks. It tones the uterus, and will only make the contractions you were already having more noticeable, according to my midwife (it doesn't itself cause them).

If you are having a scheduled c-section, I would think you could still take the tea, just because maybe it would help when your uterus has to contract back down to it's normal size after birth. I'm not positive though, so don't quote me! :)

  • Dumb question but what does it taste like? I am not a tea drinker, don't even like sweet iced tea. Does it have a very strong "tea" taste or is it a little fruity? I'm assuming you can drink it iced?

I bought the Earth Angel brand from Amazon. You can add it to Subscribe & Save and get free shipping if you don't have Prime.

I thought it was good. Definitely not sweet. It tastes minty.

It doesn't taste like black tea, more like some herbal teas.  I would compare it most closely to chamomile (it doesn't taste minty to me at all).  I think it's delicious with a little bit of honey added.  I've drank it iced, but prefer it hot.  I think it tastes a little bitter iced.
