rec your humidifier

So poor LO has another cold. We used to use the Homedics medspa cool mist humidifier but the motor went out It left puddles of water everywhere when we used it over night, but other than that we liked it. It's pricey though, so I am looking for something else maybe in the 30-40$ price range.

Which one do y'all like? Is cool mist better, or does it matter?

Also, what about using the Baby Vaporub? Does it work?

I got the safety first brand and it works well, but I ended up switching it out with the one in our room, procare brand from walmart, because it has a loud fan that doubles as white noise.

I like the safety first one best because it doesn't require a filter, I just wish it wasn't so quiet.

We have the elephant one; I think it's crane. DH swears by it (it's for DS but he's still in our room until we move at the end of the month). We'll get one for ourselves, but probably the regular tear drop, not an animal.

We had it sitting on a wooden tv tray, with nothing underneath it.
