How long does the Ovidrel stay in your system? Wanting to take a HPT

Hey ladies. 14dpiui will be this Thursday (3 days), but I just don't know if I can hold out that long on testing. I wanted to test maybe a couple days sooner but I'm afraid I will get a false positive from my ovidrel shot. What's the longest that it has stayed in your system and showed up on a HPT? I've never kept track of it before, but j know some people do. So any input would be great!

Yea I triggered 36 hours before. In the past when I have triggered and then tested early, I've never got a positive result. But I can't remember how early I've tested.

I'm pretty sure I got a faint line up until 12dpiui (twice) another time it was out really early. But since it wasn't getting any darker, I figured it wasn't a bfp.

I've had my trigger show a positive at 11 days post trigger. It's annoying. Either do what other ladies have said, and test out the trigger (it's sorta fun to see positive HPTs, even if they're not real), or wait a good solid 13 or 14 days post trigger before the first test.

Mine has lasted as long as 12 days post trigger. Such a tease. I'd wait!

I seem to be in the minority here, but my trigger was completely gone by 8dpiui/9dptrigger. I would either test two days in a row to see if the line gets darker or lighter, or wait until 14dpiui. Good luck!! I hope you get your BFP

I tested out my trigger last time, and it took a week. Really frustrating - I wanted it gone sooner! It was kinda cool to see what a + HPT looked like, though! My RE's instructions were to wait until 17 days after trigger to test (which for me would mean AF should have already arrived.) If I were you, and I triggered and didn't test it out, I probably wouldn't test for a while yet and would just wait for AF or until I was definitely late, because I think I would get my hopes up too much if I got a + and would be crushed if it ended up being the trigger still in my system. But, that's just me. Good luck!

I had a false positive 8 days post trigger/insemination. I tested early just for fun without knowing Ovidrel can cause a false positive... pretty disappointing lesson to learn!! Probably best to wait for the blood test if you can. If you do a HPT, do it just for fun only and don't put too much stock in the result.
