another travel question: bedtime

So, in preparing for our big trip....I cannot decide how to let LO sleep at night. We'll be renting a house for the week and I'm not sure if I should get a pack n'play and get a mattress for it so it's more comfortable for him or if I can just have him sleep on the floor on something or in bed with me. What have you ladies done?

We used a Pack N Play and did not have a mattress.  Our crib mattress is pretty hard, so she didn't notice.  We kept bedtimes consistent and brought the noise machine she always uses, as well as other bedtime items (sleepsack, blankey) and it went well.
