Glass Bottles??

Does anyone have any advice or experience with glass vs plastic baby bottles? I am a first time mom and am going to register for Dr. Brown bottles based off the advice of several parents that I know. However I'm trying to decide on the glass vs plastic, mainly to reduce the amount of chemicals in pastic products. I do know that the Dr. Brown are BPA free.

We have a mix of glass and plastic bottles.  Honestly, I don't believe the BPA-free plastic represent any risk at all.  After all, you won't be microwaving them with milk or formula in them, and I think that's the biggest risk with using any kind of plastic.  

Obviously the glass bottles are breakable, and are heavier, which could be a factor if you plan to take bottles with you when you're on-the-go.  

I would caution you against laying in a stock of one kind of bottle too early.  Not all babies like the same kind of bottles, and there is some trial and error.  Or if you do register for and receive a lot of one kind of bottle, don't open all of them until you know that your baby likes them.  That way you can return them and exchange for a different kind.

We had glass the first time (Born Free) and they were ok.  Definitely heavier and ours had more pieces than the plastic version of the same bottles and that got to be a pain in the ass as time went on.  Also, my kid could never lift the glass bottles with formula in them so after a few months we had to switch to plastic anyway.  You might also consider your daycare provider's preference if your child will be attending a daycare.  Ours really preferred using plastic (not that we couldn't use glass and of course the final decision should be yours but from a safety perspective, I understood their wishes and sent plastic there).
