Favorite front loader detergent question

I'm new to CD so I'm trying out different detergents that are recommended but having a hard time finding a powdered detergent I'm in love with. Are there not any liquid detergents out there? I'm currently using gdiapers but have RaR and BG too

I'm new to CDing as well, but I have a front loading machine and I've been using Rockin' Green detergent and I'm really not happy with it. It is quite expensive and I don't find that my diapers are coming out completely clean sometimes, and I'm using the recommended amount. I've heard this from others as well. So next time I might switch to Nellies because I've heard good things and I can buy it locally.

  • I use Original Tide HE. I use about to the 1 line, maybe to the 2 line if I have a larger load. I have medium to hard water. I have found, recently, that I also have to run the load with some Bac Out every 2 weeks to a month or I am getting a hint of barnyard. I also have to soak my overnight fitted or I get ammonia buildup. Thinking of switching to flats to solve that problem.

  • I would stay away from liquid detergents unless they are specifically for CD's. You don't want to make it any more problems since you already have a FL and (I assume) are using the MF inserts.

  • We use original tide HE also. No problems so far.

  • I assume the original tide HE is the powder, right? I'll give it a try. So far I've tried rockin green and BG detergent. I'm hoping the sun comes out soon so I can sun them for better results.
  • I use liquid charlies.

  • I'm not in love with the BG detergent either. I just never go to the grocery store to buy tide!

Ultra is fine. Original refers to the smell.

I use original Tide as well. I just started adding Calgon water softener to each diaper load last week because I have very hard water. Tide has worked well for us for 2.5 years :)

  • Thank you everyone.
  • Tiny Bubbles or Miocare, whichever one is in stock at my local baby store. Plus Calgon for hard water.
