bleeding after intercourse

I had a scare and complete freak out this morning. I went to the bathroom and after wiping I had a bunch of mostly brown some reddish blood on the toilet paper. I immediately called the nurse and then cried until she called back 30 minutes later. I wasn't sure if it was from my vanishing twin, the growing baby or what! I just felt like doom was approaching.

Apparently this was most likely caused from sex with DH 24 hours before. She said it is from the increased blood flow to the area which makes the cervix sensitive. I am to monitor for the rest of the day and if it gets worse to call tomorrow and come in for an appointment. I felt kind of dumb when I hung up and DH and I decided no more sex until after week 12. Not worth the anguish! Anyone ever have this experience?

But slight irritation to the cervix doesn't hurt the baby. No need to cut things off with hubby! I only had spotting twice...it does not necessarily happen every time you have sex. Check with your doc, but I'd say that unless you're told not to have sex, you should feel free to have it. Knowing that spotting is likely makes it easier to deal with because you're at least a little bit mentally prepared. Hang in there!

Yes, I had it at week 9 and again last week. I was so scared the first time and demanded an US at my 10 week OB appt and everything looked great.

What is this intercourse of which you speak? Lol. I'm glad everything is ok. That would be scary. I've already had spotting, and haven't let DH anywhere near me because I don't think I could emotionally handle it if the spotting increased.

Yes I had it too. I went to the ER because there was a lot of red blood and it was in the middle of the night. Turns out I had placenta previa so I just had to be monitored until it worked itself out.
