What kind of easy clean high-chair should i get?

i want something that does NOT have a ton of padding to make cleaning hard as shit.  i gave him like 2 tsp's worth of avocado today and sweet jesus it was a mess, so this doesn't bode well for future meals. he can't sit up fully unassisted yet, so i need something with good support for now.

oh and my pedi was acting like i was cray cray for not feeding cereal at all.  i got all fire-eyed and was like listen honeybuns, i know what i am doing here!

and, hello biznatches!

a pic for yer time.  why is my baby growing SO FAST  (and by growing i mean not even 16 lbs at 6 months, and 25 inches long. a peanut!)  but still, stay teensy weensy snuggly plz!

  • He's so cute! We love the cheap high chair from Ikea. So easy to clean...no padding! And it's only $25

Does it give enough support for tiny tots not sitting up on their own yet?

  • We ditched the high chair for a booster. Love it. No padding. Easy to clean. Saves space and portable.

  • Ikea sells an insert for like $5 to help them sit without wobbling all over the place. I bought the same $25 chair when LO was ALMOST sitting unassisted thinking she would need it, but she was fine without it.

  • We have the Evenflo ModTot high chair. I got it from target when he was about 5 weeks old because it was on sale for super cheap. It's really easy to clean, and I don't hate how it looks. It reclines, and the table has a snap in tray top for easy cleaning

I agree with the IKEA cheapo seat. We use the Stokke Tripp Trapp on a regular basis but when we visit family they all have the IKEA high chair. Easy to clean and definitely gives just enough support for the barely sitting littles. The extra padding isn't a bad idea, though. It's just a little padded insert that goes around their hips/back about 5ish inches high.

  • I have the FP space saver chair. The tray is dishwasher safe, the cover comes off and gets washed in the washing machine, and the straps are a very easy to clean vinyl. The seat reclines to different levels so babies not yet sitting can recline back if need be. My LO had no trouble sitting in it and he still isn't fully sitting on his own yet.
  • We bought a Fisher-Price Booster Seat, Blue/Green/Gray on Amazon.com for my parents house and I love it! Easy to clean and very user friendly. And only $20. Wish I had bought this one for home rather than the fp space saver I bought for twice the price!

  • We have this: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=17197746&cp=&parentPage=search

Pricey but so worth it! It's a 4 in 1 so it grows with the child. You can remove the padding and wash it very easily. Joey isn't sitting up on his own yet either so it offers a lot of support for him which I love.

  • Fisher Price EZ Clean. Went with it based on Baby Bargains reviews. We love it but I will say the dishwasher safe part of the tray doesn't fit in our dishwasher (GE Profile), not a big deal for us tho.

  • I love my babymoov compact booster seat. It's a space saver so it attaches to your own chairs. The only thing missing since it is technically a booster seat is enough headrest for baby. I have repurposed my boppy and placed it around my chair and it works perfectly. Clean up is super quick.

What a cutie, CV, and I hear you about growing too fast. We have the Graco DuoDiner, as well, which I think is easy to clean unless you get food on the padding and then it can be a pain to get the padding off, though once off, it washes super easy.

Best of luck finding one and visit more often, please, you are missed!

  • We have a chicco Polly which wipes down well but the straps are looking kind of gross. Any way to clean those?
