Possible Heart Arrhythmia :(

So I may totally be overthinking or not at all.. but i had an appointment this past week, where my midwife thought she might have heard an arrhythmia with my babygirl she checked the heart rate again a few hours later and it was totally fine. Today I had my 3D ultrasound and as I listened to the heart beat it sounded like there might be an arrhythmia in there but im not sure.. The tech didnt say anything about it.. As she was checking the heart beat she asked where I was getting seen at and if the anatomy looked good.. And I told her yeah it does.. But it just made me wonder why she even asked that.. I got a recording of the heartbeat and sometimes it sounds off.. I just dont know what to think or do and I honestly freak out a lot.. im 24 weeks pregnant. has anyone else experienced this or have any advice on the matter? thank youuuuu!!!!

Re: Possible Heart Arrhythmia :(

  • I'm an early Sept 14 mom but I wanted to give my 2 cents. I would also call your midwife/ob with questions but my ds had an arrhythmia in-utero. The OB barely heard it at an appt and had a fetal echo done. The tech took forever to find it then. The dr said that most arrhythmia's correct themselves at or soon after birth. That is exactly what happened to ds. This also happened to my sister recently. I hope you get answers soon.

  • I had called the hospital and they were calm about it they told  me to call monday to schedule an appointment and talk to my dr about it.. she said she understands my concerns but since they have done ultrasounds and kept up with the baby up to this point that everything should be but to ease my concerns to call!
  • My baby definitely had a little arrhythmia at our 20 week a/s. The doctor said she wasn't worried about it, just cut out ALL caffeine (incl. chocolate) and mint. That worked for me! By 26 weeks, her heart was beating totally normally. At that follow-up appointment, the doc said it's totally normal for the heart to do that at first. I'm glad you have the follow-up! But don't worry about it.
