I hope everyone is having a good Saturday!

I'm doing pretty well.  I've been really worried about Viv being breech, and counting down to my appt on Tuesday when we will double check.  Last week I felt hiccups up high about my belly button, which added to my fears.  But I've been doing the Spinning Babies exercise, and last night while watching tv with my H, we felt more hiccups way down low!  I'm so hopeful that it means that she's turned herself.

I feel like we're finally getting to the point where we realize that she's coming soon, so we're just starting to work on preparing for her.   With our move to a new apartment, and our daughter going through all sorts of big changes (potty training, moved to a big girl bed, etc.), I feel like Viviana's stuff has been pushed down on the priority list.  But this week we bought her coming home outfit and another outfit, and next weekend (for mother's day) we're going to spend the day together in a fun part of the city, shopping for decorations for the nursery.   Yay!  It's still full of boxes from our move, but at this point a lot of the stuff left is stuff that just needs to be either given away or stored in our big storage closet - so we just need to go through and separate it all out and pack it away.  I'm excited to get working on the nursery and everything!

Oh, I've been MIA from the Bump lately! Mostly because I've been working like crazy to earn money for maternity leave, but also because I had the stomach flu for 3 days over Easter, then my son has been battling it ever since. Terrible! My husband was like, "Since this pregnancy has been so terrible, does this mean it's our last kid?" Ha.
QOTW- What has been your favorite thing to do to prepare for baby? Any activity, shopping, etc.
I always say it - but my son, for sure! Talking with him about being a big brother, seeing how excited he gets, and just thinking about him and a little baby makes my heart all fluttery. Oh, and getting ready to cloth diaper again is kind fun. I'm weird. ;) (Least favorite? NAMING this child and remembering how little newborns SLEEP.)

  • All things going well, 33w2d now! Had my first NST and Dr says my baby is crazy active! She did give me a scare this week when she didn't immediately start going bananas when I went to bed, but I just have just caught her early in her sleep cycle, because after 45 minutes she was moving again. My favorite baby prep is shopping and organizing! This week I hit up a couple of rummage sales for friends of friends and found some cute outfits, some like new plain onesies, some receiving and swaddlers and sleep sack blankets and a little pink wooden rocking chair all for $15! :) this past week a friend of mine delivered at 37 weeks to a small for GA boy, 4 lbs 15 oz, but perfectly healthy and so cute! it was amazing to believe that my baby isn't much smaller than that now, and soon enough it will me my turn to deliver, hold my own baby and take it home.

Been doing good overall. Starting to get uncomfortable at night and a sore back at the end of the day, but everything else is good. Starting to think about delivery, but trying not to dwell on it. My first took a really long time and I had to be induced. So, I still don't know what it would feel like to go into labor or have my water break. Really hoping it doesn't break at work!

QOTW- What has been your favorite thing to do to prepare for baby? Any activity, shopping, etc.

Getting the room together has been so much fun and watching how my DS has grown before my eyes after finding out he is going to be a big brother. Also pinterest has been amazing! Didn't have it with my first. :)
  • Hello!

Lots happened this last week. We had our growth u/s and the measured my fluid. Our little man is huge. He's in the 95th percentile in weight, weighing approximately 6lb10oz. I was 34 weeks but measured 36.
I'm now considered high risk because they have diagnosed me with polyhydramnios and edema. Doctor is also concerned that I am developing pre e because of very slight amounts of protein in my urine and the swelling. Because of his size and the fact that I've gained all my weight in the last few weeks, they also are concerned I have developed GD. So I had a bunch of blood drawn and I have to do a 24 hr urine collection to determine what's going on.
Starting this week I'll be going in for weekly NSTs as well as u/s. Doctor thinks I'll go into labor early because of the amount Of fluid Im carrying. I am no longer able to travel, not even a couple hours. :( so, there's been a lot to take in this week. I can't do anything the easy way..

    QOTW
My favorite thing so far has been getting the nursery ready. Hopefully next weekend we'll be done. I'm also eager to organize his clothes and just be ready for his arrival.

  • Tell us how you've been, any updates, fears, etc?

I had a good appointment this past week.  My OB is happy with my progress and my sugars (for my GD).  I also had my second NST.  Baby was asleep so they had to buzz him.  After that, he moved around and they got the readings they needed.  I of course freaked out that something was wrong.  I've been feeling pretty good emotionally this past week.  Physically, this back, hip, and pelvis pain, especially when sleeping or getting up after sitting for a while, is HORRIBLE!  I can't even hardly stand at some times.

QOTW- What has been your favorite thing to do to prepare for baby? Any activity, shopping, etc.  I've enjoyed shopping (I have a problem with it I think) and getting his room together.  He'll be sharing a room with my middle son when he moves out of our room so it was fun to look for things to balance a baby type of room and a toddler type of room.  This week, I'm going to start to wash his clothes, decide on a coming home outfit and start to pack my bag.
Hope everyone has a good week!

34 weeks!  Doing pretty good.  Feeling the normal end of PG aches and pains, but nothing too horrible.  Emotionally, I've been cranky and kind of depressed.  It's been a dark, rainy week, though, and that kind of stuff affects my mood, so I'm hoping that a few sunny days in the forecast will make me happier.  My car also chose last week to break down and I just DONT WANT TO DEAL with it.  So DH is currently acting as my driver (he's a SAHD so he can).

My next appointment is next Friday (35 week appointment).  My BP was mildly elevated at my last appointment and due to my history of PreE, that makes me nervous for how it will be behaving at my next appointment.  But, I've been monitoring my BP at home and so far it's been perfect, so that calms my nerves a bit.  I'm also hoping she's head-down (the MWs haven't been able to tell for sure, but said that if they still can't tell next week, they'll be sending me for an US to find out).

QOTW- What has been your favorite thing to do to prepare for baby? Any activity, shopping, etc.

I love shopping for the cute baby girl clothes and looking through boxes of hand me downs we have gotten.  DH is putting together our little girl's dresser as we speak so I'll be able to organize and put away everything soon!

I'm sorry to hear about your edema and fluid issues.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that your 24 hour urine comes back good!

I just wanted to weigh in on the weight gain/GD thing.  Quick, high weight gain can definitely be caused by severe swelling/edema.  With DS, I had crazy swelling that came out of no where (eventually did develop PreE) and gained 30 lbs in 3 weeks (not even an exaggeration).  My OBs mentioned GD to me as well, but I definitely didn't have it.  If anything, my sugars tended on the low side.  Of course, our situations might be different, but I did want to share that with you.

  • Happy weekend ladies!!
Exciting news: I've now lasted longer without going on BR with this pregnancy than I did with DS so I'm all excited.
Not so exciting news: I started spotting a little yesterday - but it was all "old blood" so my OB said just to monitor unless it became bright red - never did though.
Appointment Updates: we go in on Thursday - well see what the OB says about the little mans size he's huge .

Favorite Preping for Baby: hmmm I still haven't done much - probably should get moving. We have the nursery painted so that's a step in the right dorection

  • Hi Ladies!

Glad to hear everyone seems to be doing well. @fuccimama hopefully that little baby keeps cooking awhile longer :)

I am doing pretty well, sore back and hips lately making sleep difficult and sometimes impossible. Also my vajayjay is swollen and so uncomfortable, I seriously cannot wait for dry undies and no more liners.
No crazy fears, mostly getting anxious to meet her and introduce my DS to his new sister. No new appointments, next check will be on the 14th.

My favourite thing to do lately is go through all the awesome hand me down girls clothes I received from my best friend, this girl is already outfitted for her first year pretty much. Its nice to not have to worry about buying so much stuff. This weekend will be crib assembly! We also got a really nice new change table/dresser/hutch combo off kijiji used for a great deal and it will complete the nursery....... getting close now ladies and sometimes I can hardly believe that I will soon have two kids

    xoxo till next week

  • Glad to hear everyone is doing good.

I on the other hand...had a melt down at my appoinment yesterday. I started going every week for a BIOphysical profile ultrasound and for the NST's. During the U/S LO did not practice his breathing in the allowed 30min. cue freak out. Then I was hooked up to the NST monitor and according to the DR it was a perfect NST. But the high risk DR wants me to repeat the tests in 48 hours. UGH...PgAL is on overdrive :( I am trying to stay positive because he is still moving a lot and he got the hiccups last night and this morning...but still UGH

My next appointment is wednesday in the afternoon so FX he has a better U/S.

    QOTW:

My favorite thing to do is organize LO's room. I pretty much have everything ready to go for his arrival...so sometimes I will just sit on my rocker...day dreaming of what it might be like when he is home.
