Intro -- IVF retrieval Monday (warning: children mentioned)

Hi all!  I'm 39 years old and my TTC journey has been all over the place.  I had an early miscarriage in 2009 and was somewhat active on the TTCAL board after that (under a different name ... I can't remember my log-in and password since it's been so long and had to start a new one!).  I had my daughter in 2010 (now four years old) and my son in 2011 (now two years old); both were conceived naturally.  My daughter has a rare and potentially deadline genetic disease that was diagnosed when I was pregnant with my son (thankfully, he does not have it).  We are hoping for a third baby through IVF with PGD (preimplantation genetic disgnosis), where they test the embryos before implantation to see if they have the disease and only implant "healthy" embryos.  I already had one failed IVF in February.  My second one (and almost surely last, regardless of whether or not it is successful) is underway now ... I took my trigger shot tonight and retrieval is scheduled for Sunday morning.  

Anyone else close to retrieval in an IVF cycle?  Anyone by chance doing IVF with PGD?  I'm a super private person about things like this and am not sharing what's going on with anyone IRL (other than my husband).  Thanks for reading if you got this far.  :)

    Welcome and good luck.

    I'm doing IVF with PGD but I'm just starting the process, I'm starting birth control today. I'm also 39 and will be doing egg retrieval a week or two before my 40th birthday.

    I haven't done IVF but wanted to wish you good luck tomorrow!
    BFP: 5/10/14 after 14 cycles of trying!
    EDD: 1/21/15
    5/12 1st beta: 28
    5/14 2nd beta: 87.5
    5/23: 3rd beta: 4000.6 + saw gestational sac and yolk sac
    5/30: 4th beta: 17,852 + saw fetal pole and heard heartbeat! 127 BPM!

    Welcome :). I'm in the 2ww wait with DE IVF. Good luck tomorrow and hoping for a smooth and uneventful retrieval!

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    I hope your retrieval went well and you are resting up.  I am doing IVF with PGD as well. However, we are doing multiple retrievals in order to "bank" as many as we can before doing the testing.  My first retrieval for this was last month and I'm now starting the process again for retrieval #2, but in very early stages so retrieval prolly not until early June.

    Let us know how you are doing and if you have any questions, just let me know. I feel like I'm pretty seasoned in this whole process.

    **** siggy warning - bfp & loss ****   ---- All Welcome ---

    Me: 44 - Hashimoto's (under control), DH: 38 - (minor issues)

    IUIs: 2 in 2012 ... Both BFN
    IVF #1: 10/16/13 ... BFP, however it was not viable and ended in an early loss at 7weeks.
    IVF #2: Feb '14 ... Cancelled. Positive beta at baseline appt, became very early loss.
    IVF #2: Apr '    14 ... Retrieval Only. 2 embryos made it to day 3 freeze & will be batched with IVF #3 for PGD testing.
    IVF #3: June '14     ...     Retrieval Only. 4 embryos growing, all arrested before day 5. Two from April thawed, but also arrested.
    Currently benched while determining how to proceed.

    Thanks, ladies.  I don't know if you'll see this response, but I had 14 retrieved, 12 were mature, 9 fertilized, and 6 made it to day 5 and were frozen.  Those 6 were tested and the cells for testing have been mailed off to Chicago for testing.  We'll know results in 2 weeks or so.  Given that I had none make it to day 5 last time, I was very happy with the way things went this time.

    Great news!!
    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.  
    Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
    I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.  
    July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal 
    DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF. 
    Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!) 
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
    12/17/14 - Natural BFP!
