Nap time question

This week I've started trying to have Lily take her naps in her crib when we're home rather than just letting her fall asleep wherever. I've been watching for cues that she's sleepy and when she starts to seem tired I swaddle her and try to rock her a bit until she seems tired, then I put her down in her crib. Sometimes she starts to wake up a little & cry so I take her out and soothe her again a little bit before putting her down again. Sometimes this process seems to take a while. I was just curious as to what your routine is for putting LO down for a nap if you have one.

Re: Nap time question

  • When my kid wakes up after I lay him down, I gently pat or jiggle his butt until he falls back to sleep.  I call this technique "Beat To Sleep"  Works every time.

Caroline sleeps wherever and whenever. In my arms, swing, rnp, in the car- just depends on what we're doing. Oops I should say anywhere except her pnp...that's only at night with her swaddle, arms out. She sleeps quite often (read: still/most of all the time) she's 7 wks today

Totally jealous. My kid is apparently not related to me. I love sleep and she does not know what it is.

Eh, but sleeping at night...not so much. Still up every 3 hrs

This is what I'm doing right now.

Depends what DD#1 is up to. Sometimes I leave LO and just run in to repacify. Sometimes I rock her. I wish I had a better way but with 2 I feel like I'm just trying to make it through the easiest way possible.
    I'm not helpful.
