Babies: 3 - 6 Months

No more rolling over?

DD is 4.5 months and rolled over a handful of times a few weeks ago - but nothing since! When she's on her tummy she'll kind of scoot her bum in the air and get halfway on her side but then gets frustrated and starts crying. Can babies forget how to roll over?!

I realize this may be a silly question so thanks in advance for not judging! ;)

Re: No more rolling over?

  • Lol! I thought we were just crazy :) good to know other babies have a roll strike :). We rolled several times last week, and since I'm trying to catch it on video for Grammy... Nothing for a week! It's like he's not interested.
  • My LO did it once, then nothing for about 2 weeks. Now I can't keep her from rolling around her blanket, crib, everywhere!

  • My DCP tells me that LO has rolled both ways, she's said this for months but it wasn't until last weekend that I finally got to see her roll one time!
She turns onto her side easily, is sitting mostly unassisted but just doesn't seem interested in rolling.
I'm not worried, like pp said, it's nice to know she can but if she doesn't do it often- or like ever!- then that's fine with me.

my lo has rolled maybe 10 times and she is 5 months.  I am not concerned. #1
I don't see too many adults rolling around and #2 I know she will get it eventually.

  • It happens with every milestone. DD & DS crawled backwards first.
