Breastfeeding

Advice Needed!

I have been having supply issues for the past few months.  I did with my first child as well but was able to supplement with breast milk from a good friend.  This time I don't have that luxury!  I have tried all of the things recommended in order to increase supply and it just isn't working.  My freezer stash is nearly depleted and I just am not making enough milk to feed my little guy.  He will be 1 on June 8th so we are so so close to making it to a year.  However, I need to do something.  What would you do?
Supplement with formula?
Supplement with animal milk?  Cow? Goat?
Switch completely to formula/animal milk?
Something else?
Thanks for your input!

  • How much milk are you short each day? If it's just one bottle, I would ask the pedi if you can go ahead and give one whole milk bottle per day since you probably will be switching to WCM soon anyway. We started transitioning to WCM a few weeks before DD's birthday, and our pedi was fine with it. We made the switch by doing 3/4 BM and 1/4 WCM per bottle for one week, 1/2 and 1/2 the next week, 3/4 WCM and 1/4 BM the third week, and 100% WCM on the 4th week.
