Breastfeeding

Intro and a question for you ladies

I've been lurking for a while and want to thank all of you for everything you've taught me without even knowing you were doing so.
Here's a little about us. My son, my miracle, was born at 32w 2d and is now 2w 1d adjusted. He was considered a feeder and grower during his 4w 5d nicu stay. He needed a ng tube initially so I have pumped from day one. Gradually we were able to graduate from the tube to bottles of EBM and bf 3x a day by the time he came home.
Now that he is home I am bf on demand and he gets the occasional bottle of EBM. I am still pumping after feeding him. Balancing both is much more difficult with him home and bf on demand, especially in the evenings with cluster feeding! I am averaging 20oz per day so I now have a huge freezer stash.
So I guess my question is how often are you able to pump (especially if you are a sahm as I am right now) and how much do you pump on average each day? And I'd appreciate any tips you have on EBF and pumping at the same time.
Thanks in advance and I'm sorry it was so long!

Re: Intro and a question for you ladies

  • You don't really need to pump if you stay at home and BF on demand ? You can pump like once a day in the am to save up for a freezer stash if wanted/needed, I stay at home and EBF and never pump I have a small freezer stash for emergencies but I'm content having baby just breastfeed because it's much easier then having to pump! Congrats on your little bundle of joy :)
