I went to my first ultrasound today thinking I was 6w7d but I only measured at 5w3d:'( not sure what to think at this point. The doctor said she could see a fetal pole but I need to go back for another ultrasound next week..

My dates were off by two weeks also. Like the pp said, are you sure of your dates?

Were you temping/charting?  If not, there is no way you can know when you ovulated.  Sometimes going off of your LMP will put you off several days.  Just to give you an idea, I ovulated on CD 22 so I know exactly how many weeks/days I am.  The doctor was calculating me to be over a week more than I knew I was.  So going by LMP is not the most accurate way to date a pregnancy if you're not ovulating on day 14.

This exactly. I ovulate late so I can't base it on LMP. For instance if I went by my LMP my due date would be 12/23 but based on my ovulation it's 12/31. Do you know when you ovulated?

Well that puts my mind at ease! I wasn't temping/charting but I thought I might be maybe a few days off not two weeks!

I'm going into my 1st appt with my doctor as curious as you are. My dates could be off because the only thing I was sure of was the 1st date of my LMP. Baby #2 was a bit of a surprise for us, but we are so excited!

When did you get a bfp? 

I got my bfp on April 15th BUT it was veryyyyyy faint a few days later it was bright and positive!

Assuming you got the BFP at 9 DPO the would put your O date around 4/6 which would line up your 5w 3d.

I get ovulation cramping so I know the exact day that I ovulate but the doc doesn't know that yet because I haven't been in to see him yet.  When I get there though they are going to think that I should be 10 days further along than I actually am because I don't ovulate until day 24 of my cycle and I'm on 38 day cycles.  I don't think two weeks is that crazy.
