Recently helping my mom pack for her move she handed me a stack of square cloths and said "here wrap the fragile stuff in these".  I said "ok, what are these"? "Your cloth diapers from when you were a baby".  MInd you I am 31 yrs old.  And she has moved several times.  One move from the midwest to a condo in New York and back and has never lost or tossed one.  She said she loves those diaper and can use them for almost anything.  They are white flannel flats her grandmother cut and stitched for her.  They are surprisingly white and in great shape for being used like crazy for over 30 yrs.  I almost wanted to steal them from her and use them for nostalgia sake...but I think she would kill me.  And probably notice if I took even one.

I laugh to myself about the day when DD will realize that our cleaning cloths are actually her old diapers.

I had a friend who used her old prefoldsas her lovey when she was a bit older.  She was okay with it though when she found out.
