I don't think we've done this in a long time. Any current events you all want to discuss? 

Mine - Did anyone hear about the "botched execution" of a death row inmate in Oklahoma last night? What are your thoughts? https://www.krmg.com/ap/ap/oklahoma/man-dies-of-heart-attack-after-botched-execution/nfky9/ 

I get that it may not have been "humane", but neither was his crime of raping and burying a teen while she was still alive. There was also a second execution scheduled for last night, but the man got a "stay" until they can figure out what happened with the new drugs they administered. His crime was raping and killing an 11 month old. WHY is he still living????? That's just my opinion.

There was a shooting in my town this morning. A former employee of a mill walked in and open fired on everyone, two people are dead, one is in critical condition and one is in stable condition now. My husband works at a mill and my heart nearly stopped when I heard the news, thank god it was not his mill. I live in a smaller town where I never saw something like this happening, my heart hurts for the victims families..

@Meganbryn - Sorry to hear about your town's shooting. I'm glad it wasn't your husband's mill.

I think school-age children should be able to go to the bathroom on their own. So a 6- or 7-year-old (or a mature 5-year-old). This is strictly my own opinion.

Yes they CAN go but I'm sure I'll do bathroom checks before. My niece always went with me but my nephew got old enough he did not want to go in girls bathroom. I would have him make sure no men were in there & I would wait at the door. I watch waaayyy too much 20/20/dateline to trust anyone.

@AbbyMMM - I'd be up for some British cheese rolling.  

I do differ in opinion from you on the death penalty issue though. I definitely don't think it's a suitable punishment for every crime, but these two individuals admitted to the horrific crimes and NEVER showed remorse. Not okay. Like PP said, get rid of them. But yes, I suppose Oklahoma should figure out what drugs will actually work before administering.

I have zero sympathy for what happened to the guy( animal) who was executed. His victim had anything but a peaceful death, so I am happy to hear he didn't either. Karma is a bitch
