So I went in to my what I though should be my last monitoring appt. before ER. The RE was doing my U/S and all of a sudden he shook his head and said "looks like we might have to freeze." Then he told me I had a few big follicles and something about my progesterone levels, but all I heard is "freeze." After that I got dressed and went to talk in the office and felt like all I could do was fight back tears and frustration. He basically told me that since my progesterone was higher than they should and something about him being concerned of OHSS that my risk of miscarriage was higher than if the situation were different. I responded a lot better than they thought I would with all the meds considering I have DOR so I know I should be grateful, but this was not the plan. My ER is scheduled for Thursday at 10:15am, then they will grow them until its time to freeze, then an FET next month. The RE told me not to worry because their success rates are actually higher than "fresh" cycles, but my anxiety is still going crazy.
ETA: They also changed my trigger to Lupron from Orvidrel
@NariaDreaming- I totally agree, honestly being DOR I never concerned myself with OHSS because I just thought it was so unlikely but thats why my husband jokes and says I'm like Murphy's Law
I'm sorry - it is VERY frustrating to have a last minute change after all the mental prep. And it didn't seem like he initially explained it all that nicely to ease your worry. But from everyone who I've seen moved to FET due to OHSS, they are initially upset but later totally grateful b/c of all the craziness going on in there after ER. Hopefully you have a ton to freeze and don't have to stress much longer
