I am definitely a lurker, post on a rare occasion, but I was randomly thinking about something this morning that I could never, ever ask my parents, or anyone in real life, so I thought I would come to my favorite board and see what you guys had to say.  Do you think you will always remember the day and place where you child was conceived?  Am I a total weirdo?

I guess this qualifies as a personal question but not in my family. We guessed that DD was conceived Thanksgiving weekend at my aunt's house. They joked Clue style that it was DH in the guest apartment with the turkey baster. Lol.

Are you meaning like, literally concieved?

You know conception doesn't always happen when you have sex, right?  You can have sex a day or two before you ovulate, but if the egg is not there to meet the sperm you won't concieve then.

You could be walking down the street the day after having sex when your body ovulates.  That's when you concieve.

Ds1 took one try so I know bc we only DTD once (exbf). DS2, the month of September 2007, at home. DD...we think Myrtle beach trip. We called her Myrtle in utero LOL

I don't think this is a particularly person question myself.
Edit: I also don't think about this, ever.

I was charting, so I know within a couple of days. I know where. And I kind of remember what was going on at the time because we were getting ready to go on a big vacation a couple of days later.

ETA: I also don't think this is a TMI question among best friends or sisters, for example.

Yup! DS was in bed in a Thursday night. DD was on the couch on a Thursday night. Thursday must be a good day.

This is us exactly, our first was sometime either in the week before our wedding or the week of our honeymoon so yeah, no.

My daughter was a Valentines baby...

This one we kind of know, sort of, it was one of those things where my daughter had JUST weaned and so we had that week of "Hey!  My libido is back!" so we were doin' it every night for like a week.  Just picked the right week I guess lol

We were TTC both times, so I'm not sure the exact "time" and that memory isn't really important to me ( in the "I'll never forget..." sense). I will always remember the day we decided we wanted to start TTC. That is a special memory.

My 1st I could never forget.  It was early January, in the middle of a raging house party between a bottle of tequila & a case of beer in an upstairs bedroom that I remember being a kids room with a guy I was only casually dating & absolutely no interest in becoming a parent with (or anyone else at that time).

 

13 years & almost 4 kids later, it seems to have worked out.

With DD and this pg it was on one of two days each time, so yep. I charted, so if I'm feeling nostalgic I can always go back and look. With DD I was away at a conference and thought we missed our chance but when I got home I had very clear signs of O and we HIO two days in a row. With this one, DH sent me to the spa for the afternoon on a Saturday, we shipped DD of to the ILs and went out for supper, watched a movie and DTD. We did it again on Monday. It was one of those two times. All of these times were in our bed. 

Why couldn't you ask a friend that?

I *think* I know the day DD was conceived, but not for sure. I have no clue with the boys, so I guess my answer would be "no"

DS was conceived on a Spring Break trip in PR. Spring Break 2012 - woohoo!

Most of my close family and friends know that's where he was conceived. DH also bought him a "made in Puerto Rico" onesie. Maybe we are crass.

I know that my BFF's son was conceived on 4th of July at the lake house. Depending on how close you are, I don't think it's that weird of a thing to talk about IRL.

Yeah I know what day she was conceived but not in a "I will never forget...so sentimental" way but more in a 2nd year of charting, knew I was ovulating, had sex once kind of way.

DD1 was a hotel in Vermont on October 13th I know because I went with my bf (now DH) to watch his band at a local college and it was the first time we ever DTD.

5 yrs later I had my IUD out and we stopped preventing and I'm fairly sure DD2 was conceived 4 days after my birthday in our bed.

I don't think this would be a weird thing to talk about with my sisters or close friends.

Yes, for DD, since we only had sex once the month she was conceived. Not sure for this pregnancy.

No. We were still newly dating and having sex like 2-3 times a day. I have a general idea because I was taking abx but other than that week timeframe idk.

I know with the first one because my best friend was pregnant and on bed rest.  I went to visit her and then told her I had to leave early because I was Oing and needed to get home to do the deed lol  I don't know for the second.

The bolded, yes.  I could see having a conversation like this during a girls night out though.  I don't think it's taboo among friends.

In my bed, trying to be quiet (and failing) because I had a little college friends reunion at my house that night so 2 of my girlfriends were sleeping in the room directly below mine. Everyone was drunk so they didn't know or care I guess.
