I have recently been really stuck on Evangeline but I'm worried it is too much name for a little girl. I don't mind nn's in general but I'm not a fan of the nn Eva. We thought it may be a nice mn. Caroline is a family name we love, how do you feel about Caroline Evangeline? Too much? We still have lots of time, just trying some things out. Thanks!
Re: Evangeline
I'm not a fan of Evangeline. It looks so much like evangelist that it gives me that association. And it's a bigger name than I generally like, for any age.
Our family blog
My hubs wanted to call her Evie (before she was born) and we both love the reference to the character from V for Vendetta. But she just became Eva after she was born. Now she's 16 months old and her name fits her perfectly. She's a little character too, so she gets called by her full name a lot!
I like Harper for Harper Lee and because Harpur College is the division of the university my husband and I both attended, and where we met. I also like a nn that is a little more fresh/current with a classic, beautiful fn.
I think Evangeline Caroline is a bit much. Especially considering some people pronounce it EvangeLINE instead of EvangeLEEN. I think two names with the same ending but different pronunciations is kind of confusing.
Evangeline Caroline is too much, though.
I really do love the name Evangeline. I feel the same as you though, it seems like "too much" so I'm not sure if I could go with it. It's a lovely name though!
Caroline Evangeline is too much of a mouthful IMO.
