What do you buy a second time mom?

My friend just had her second child and I have no idea what to get her! I don't live in the same state so I have no idea what they need and she would never tell me. I assume they have pretty much everything since they had another child a year and a half ago. 

What do you guys give or what did you like receiving for second children?

An outfit, nursery decor, gift card for diapers.

Something for the mom - gift card for restaurant (she can use it for take out), bath products from Lush, gift certificate for house cleaning, etc.

Gift card to some place like Target, BRU, grocery store. Diapers and/or wipes.

I third the gift card idea!  Target for diapers and stuff, or a local take out place so they can order dinner.

Gift card, book for each kid, or gift for mom. My friend just had baby #2 and I got her a few months to naturebox so that she and DD1 would have plenty of healty snacks on hand.

Don't know what to get? Always get a gift card. It feels impersonal but I don't know anyone who dislikes getting gift cards. Make sure it's a store near her though. Worst gift cards are for places you have to drive two hours to use.

Thanks for all the great ideas! I like the idea of a gift card and may just do Amazon. I also like a gift card to a restaurant, but I have NO idea which ones near her she likes. There are a million because she lives in NY. 

Might just go with an outfit, too

As a STM with a 2 year old I would appreciate any of the following:
Tequila
Diapers
Vodka
Diapers
Wipes
Wine
A nap
A gift for my older child (for love of god nothing messy or annoying though. Play dough? Not cool)
Or just a gift card, that would be nice too.

I agree with the gift card idea.  People say they're impersonal, but if everyone just gave us gift cards for our shower it would make life a whole lot easier because we could get what we actually NEED.  I also like the idea of something for mama like a massage or facial.

My mil bought me a necklace with my third. It was a pea pod with 3 pearl peas in it and I loved it! So even something as simple as a necklace might be good. It wasn't an expensive one by any means but it was an amazing and thoughtful gift.

I usually like to get the mom something to help her feel glam post-partum, so I usually go for sunglasses, a lightweight infinity scarf, or nail polish with a Starbucks or Target gift card. New outfits for the baby are a great suggestion too! But all these ideas sound great! (I would die for a cleaning service and my baby isn't even here yet!!) ;-p
