Beta Update and Good Vibes Needed for Friend (jenkellen)

So my office doesn't do doubling betas, they take a draw once a week to just make sure it's rising as it should. So this is why I haven't shared these yet. My first beta last Monday was 1,012. (~4 weeks 2 days) Today it was 14,110 (5 weeks 2 days). Holy shit that seems high. I have an ultrasound next Monday to see if my betas are just randomly high or if it could mean there's more than one in there. Yikes. But I'm definitely still pregnant and the NP is confident we will see a heartbeat next week.

In other news my BFF is also a loss mom (she had a loss at 15 weeks, and 33 weeks). She also has struggled with infertility and went through IVF to get pregnant this time. We both had our appts today. Mine for blood draw, hers for the 33 week check up. This weekend was really rough for her, I had to go over her house on Saturday so she would get out of bed. This is completely unlike her. She is a super upbeat and positive person. She was just so terrified she was going to show up at this appt and get bad news. So I got her out of her funk so she could be in a good mindset for her appt today. I then find out she ended up in the hospital all day today because she was having contractions and they wanted to monitor her. They ended up letting her go home, baby is doing fine, and she'll be monitored every few days now. I just can't believe how one person has to go through all this crap, and on a milestone week. WTF.

I would appreciate any good vibes you could send her way. We want her daughter to cook as long as she can! TIA!

Great betas. Mine are similar at over 11,000 at my five week draw & they are monitoring for multiples. FWIW many people with high betas end up with only one. Only time will tell. Hope your BFF is feeling better soon and that she gets a break for a while.

I'm sorry about your friend. It must be so hard.
On the other hand, yay for great betas! Mine was 12,026 at 5w0d and in my case it did turn out to be twins. Either way, GL!
