blistered nipple :(

So, I just noticed that I have a blister on my left nipple The boys are 8 weeks, and I've been EBFing since they were 3 weeks. I alternate which side the twins are on at each session. Has anyone else had this issue? I never had issues with cracking or bleeding nips.

Ouch! Yes, I'm just getting over this. I tried several things that didn't work, and I finally had to get a prescription for Newmans ointment from my Dr. This is the only thing that has worked for me, I'm almost all healed up!

Second vote for Newman's APNO - All Purpose Nipple Ointment. Found the recipe on Google, just needed my doc to prescribe it so the pharmacy could mix it. You need to go to a compounding pharmacy...but APNO is totally worth it!

Lactation consultant suggested coconut oil - lanolin was too sticky - and it worked really well, along with air.

I agree with @StephBrim24‌ --- try other oils too!

Lanolin worked the best for me for sure, but I also tried coconut oil and cocoa butter before deciding I liked lanolin the best, and I know different oils work better for different mamas, so I am pro experimentation.

I agree with the ointment. Worked wonders for me. Sometimes it is called triple nipple

Oh andplusalso I just read that a blistered nipple can be a sign of thrush. Who knew? In that case APNO would do the trick anyway.
