high fevers

Poor dd has been battling congestion for 2 weeks and is now sick. We took her to the ER on sunday morning because her fever got up to 104.6. It started saturday around 102 but she was still acting fine so I didn't give her anything. During that night though she started waking up and motrin or tylenol were not really helping. We took her in Sunday morning and then checked her ears and they gave her a cath to check her urine. I felt so bad because she screamed through the whole thing. Everything came back clear so they don't know what is causing it. I took her into the pedi this morning cause she is still running hot and seems miserable. He checked her out and is doing the wait and see approach until wednesday then she might need a chest xray or something if her fevers are still high. Ughh, I wish we knew where these fevers were coming from. Anyone else dealt with high fevers for more than a day?

No experience with it (we've gotten to 104, but it always broke within about 24 hours), but wanted to say that I hope she feels better.  Take care of yourself too!

No experience here either, but I hope she feels better real soon and I hope you and DH don't get whatever it is.

hope she's feeling better! our highest has been 102.4 so no help.

Oh I hope she's feeling better soon!!  Morgan has only had one time that her temp broke 103 and it was due to a double ear infection.  Keep us posted please!

Milla had roseola in July and had a fever that high. DS had it at about this age and his fever was also that high. They did all the tests on him, finally the rash came when he was feeling better.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. DD's fever finally broke this morning and she is doing a lot better today. We still have no idea what caused it but I'm just glad its gone and hopefully over it now.

I'm sorry she was so miserable, and glad to hear that it's broken and she seems to be doing better. It's just the worst thing to have little ones sick :-(
