TTGP IF WEEKLY CHECK IN

This check in is meant for anyone on TTGP who has hit the 1 year mark of TTC (6 months if you’re over 35), has an infertility diagnosis, or are going through IF testing/treatment. It is meant to be a place for people to share and ask any questions who might not participate on 3T or IF who would like the company of others going through the same experiences.

If you would like to participate, please send me a PRIVATE MESSAGE  with your info and I will add you on, and please feel free to post your intro. This will be posted every Monday. If you have any suggestions or would like something added, please feel free to post.

I'm just hanging out on the bench, damn cysts!  We booked our IVF consult appt for Thurs so I am preparing my list of questions.  *If anyone has ever put together a list like this they don't mind sharing, I would love more opinions, thoughts, questions*  I am nervous and anxious but I think I'll feel better after the appt, I always do better when I have information, for better or worse, I like to know.  I'm just finding this all to be so surreal, I just never thought we'd end up at IVF.  

QOTW: My favourite is a butterscotch sundae from the ice cream truck.  Mmmm.....

AFM My lining check is on Thursday (3 days!) and if all goes well, my transfer will be a week from Wednesday (9 days!).

QOTW: I like peanut butter and chocolate. Baskin Robbins has an awsome peanut butter and chocolate ice cream, too bad they closed most of the Baskin Robbins in my area.

Well I'm 11dpo and have been getting negatives for the last 3 days and I had a little hint of spotting today so I give up. My boobs don't hurt anymore, I'm cramping like I'm fixing to start my period. I had a real ugly cry sat morning and I'm just not in a good place anymore. I will call my RE Thursday and set up the appt to get started on IVF. I really can't believe I'm here and I'm so terrified I won't even get a good egg with IVF and were going to fork over 25k for nothing. I'm just so discouraged were never going to get our baby.

I don't really like ice cream. I may a few bites once in a while and it has to be chocolate something.

@twinkie0612 FX that your lining is as perfect as possible so that you can move forward with the transwer!!!!

AFM, HSG was Friday--all clear and ready to go. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but wasn't the most exciting experience. We're still currently seeing our OBGYN for the first round or two of treatment. **don't judge yet**

I'm blessed to be able to see an OBGYN that is incredibly intelligent and well-practiced when it comes to Clomid/Femara and IF.  She herself struggled with IF and SIF, so when she opened her own practice she went back for some continuing ed. courses regarding IF for OBGYNS. She was so taken aback by my questions about monitoring because she said that so many women don't care about the effects or monitoring--they just want to be pregnant. She refuses to move forward without proper testing, as well as requiring monitoring US's and BW. We start June 2nd with Provera and will introduce Clomid on CD 3 I think, I'm just guessing based off of our last conversation. I have an appt at the end of the month to get my schedule and meds.

@Twinkie0612 - So excited for you, I can't believe your transfer is almost here!!

@MeatandBandP - I'm so freaking excited for you!!  Sending all the good vibes and prayers I can that this will be your cycle!!!

@katydid2014 - I hope your HCG gets back to 0 soon and that your cycle gets back on track.  I'm keeping my fx that your next cycle is it and you don't have to head down the road to IVF.

@Pintobean39 - I'm so sorry, this is such a difficult leap to take, so many fears, so many unknowns, no guarantees.  I'm sending lots of luck your way, and I'm here if you want/need anyone to talk to as we wade through these unknown waters, we can do it together.  ((hugs))

@jrcalhoun - Yay for the HSG being over and it going well!  I'm glad that your OB is insisting on monitoring, these are serious drugs and you just want to know that your health and well being is top priority.  Good luck!

Good luck @jrcalhoun‌ there is an ob here that my best friend used when she was taking clomid. He also has done extra training in fertility and did all the proper monitoring for her when she was on it. I think there are some OB's out there that do know their shit when it comes to IF but they are few and far between.

@jaytee16‌ I guess since we are starting this journey at the same time we can lean on each other. It is such a scary step.

AFM: We had our egg retrieval yesterday and got our fert report this afternoon. We had 18 eggs retrieved. 16 were mature and 16 fertilized! I'm happy about this, but cautious because we had a great fert report during our first cycle which ended with only one blast and a BFN. I'm also high risk for OHSS right now so I'm being really careful about my diet/fluid intake and monitoring my weight. If I don't show any symptoms of OHSS and we get some good quality embryos, we'll be able to do a transfer on Wednesday or Friday.

QOTW: Chocolate marshmallow with chocolate jimmies is my absolute favorite, but cake batter with rainbow sprinkles is a very close second. I love ice cream.

@IronEgg I'm sorry you are over here but I hope your dr is able to put a great plan in place for you. 

AFM, after weeks of nothing going on, last week was quite productive. Even though I've yet to start my period, my IVF nurse contacted my RE and told him as long as my lining looked ok, to go ahead and do the SHG. I had it done last Wednesday. The RE was able to see the right side of my uterus, but could not get a good view of the left side. He scheduled a HSG for the next day. I went in for the HSG dreading it because the SHG left me crampy, sore and leaking. But the HSG wasn't as bad and I only had some spotting right after the procedure. My RE was able to see the left side of my uterus and everything looked great. Finally some good news! Oh, and I had 7 vials of blood taken for some testing my fertility clinic required. 

With the SHG and HSG out of the way, I felt like I could start looking at donor profiles. I didn't want to look at them until my testing was complete, just in case something went wrong. I found several that I liked and will continue going through them this week.

QOTW: What's your favorite kind of ice cream? Chocolate. Give me all the chocolate.

@packerfan4life Crossing my fingers and toes for you!! I feel like I'll be where you are in a few weeks so it's nice to read what you're doing to prepare myself....I hope that doesn't sound wrong. Sounds like everything is pretty similar minus the IUI. So many positive vibes for you!

I'm just sitting on the bench over here with my BCPs, waiting to get in the game. My appointment isn't until the 9th. I have a lining check, a pap, and a mock transfer. Hopefully I can get started with my meds after that.

QOTW: I don't discriminate. I love ALL the ice cream. It's hard to pick favorites, but I am partial to mocha, peanut butter chocolate, and mint chocolate chip. See, I can't even pick one. I'm so indecisive!
