Week/Fruit: 37/winter melon

How are you feeling? really good, today, thankfully! I had some slight back pain over the weekend, but it seems to have gone away.

Appointments/Updates? I have my weekly appointment on Thursday. I declined my cervical check last week--I can't decide if I'll decline again this week.

Rants/Raves: No rants right now Raves: My parents are buying us a new glider for the baby's room. That was pretty much the only thing I had left on my list of wants.

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc) This weekend I am getting my hair cut, eyebrows/bikini waxed, and a pedicure. I'm not getting it done specifically for delivery, but I think it will be a nice treat at almost 38 weeks pregnant!

How are you feeling? Optimistic that labor will begin soon, but aware that as FTM that is not statistically likely.

Appointments/Updates? Week 39
Centering group is tonight. I plan to ask MW for a private exam to check if anything is happening yet. Maybe I'll ask her to strip my membranes...not sure about that yet, though. It sounds horribly uncomfortable.

Rants/Raves: Rant: still pregnant. Rave: today is my first official day of maternity leave.

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc)
DH gave me a spa day for an early Mother's Day gift. I had a 90 minute pre-natal massage and a 60 minute facial. It was heavenly!

Appointment with OB on Tuesday, then C/S on Wednesday at 6AM. 

Rants/Raves:

Rant- I'm getting daily check ins from my mom, MIL, etc all asking if I'm still pregnant. So much fun.

Rave- I get to meet my daughter Wednesday :x

How are you feeling?

DONE! Swollen, tired, and like I'm going to be pregnant forever. 

Appointments/Updates?

I was 1cm dilated at my appointment last Wednesday, so hopefully I'll be a little more by this week's appointment. I found out I'm GBS+ so I'll need antibiotics during labor. Boo!

Rants/Raves:

Rant - I'm done, but I don't feel like the baby is going to come out anytime soon. I'm going to be pregnant forever . UGH I wish he'd GTFO already! 

Rave - I am about to watch Mad Men and eat a burrito, so hopefully that'll improve my mood.

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc)    

I got a pedi last week and bought a lightweight dark colored robe to wear at the hospital. I hope it doesn't get ruined during my stay... I think it'll be ok since it's dark blue and shouldn't show many stains.

Week/Fruit: 39/Watermelon

How are you feeling?: Still pregnant. I know this is common, but I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever ... Mostly I'm exhausted, my back hurts, and I really don't want to be at work.

Appointments/Updates?: 39 week appointment tomorrow - declined the cervical check last week, but they said they'll want to do one this week.

Rants/Raves: Rant: I am so tired of hearing "you're still here?!?" at work. Yes. I'm here. I'll let my supervisor know if I'm not coming in, and I'm sure she'll send out some kind of memo. Until then, can we just assume I'm still here? I definitely should have scheduled my leave to start today, but too late now. Rave: My momma is coming into town this Thursday and staying for the weekend. It's unfortunately because my aunt is having surgery, but I will be glad to have her around for this weekend. If no baby by Sunday, she'll head back home for a while.

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc): If no baby by next Monday, I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure. I did get new nursing jammies for the hospital and after too. ETA: I also had DH put together a little flask of Glenmorangie for post-delivery. YUM.

Week/Fruit: 36/honeydew

How are you feeling? Pretty good still. Sleeping OK & not in too much pain. Very slow moving. And I'm outgrowing my maternity clothes

Appointments/Updates? Declined the cervical check @ my 36 week appointment on Friday. Blood sugar is holding steady. I am able to eat carb/sugary food in the afternoons and it seems to be fine so that's awesome.

Rants/Raves: I can't think of any. Today's gonna be a long day though. I still need to tell my mom I don't want her staying at our house when the baby is born. Not looking forward to it, even though I shouldn't care because she hasn't been that involved with the pregnancy anyways.

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc) I think I might get a cute robe cause I don't have one. I think a colorful silk one would be nice at the hospital and beyond.

Week/Fruit: 36/ honeydew

How are you feeling?  Eh, same old.

Appointments/Updates?  Everything looks great, and all cultures came back negative for infection, etc.. I told DH, "Congratulations. I don't have to kill you " Really glad that I don't have to worry about getting antibiotics and can go iv-free for labor.

Rants/Raves:  Had a really nice weekend just hanging out and relaxing, which was much needed after a long week. On the downside, we have some continued in-law shenanigans that are really starting to wear my patience thin. Nothing too crazy, but I hope DH and his dad can talk and figure things out sooner rather than later.

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc)  I'm a t-shirt person at night, so I did get myself new pj's that would be more practical for breastfeeding. I'm not-so-subtley hinting to DH that a pedicure would be an amazing Mother's Day gift.

Week/Fruit: 38/pumpkin

How are you feeling? Sometimes pretty normal, sometimes so uncomfortable in so many parts of myself that I just want to lay down and cry (except that laying down isn't comfortable either).

Appointments/Updates?  I had an appointment on Friday.  Baby is head down but face up.  *small grumble*  I'm about 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced.  Yay for a little less work to do in labor I guess.

Rants/Raves:  Rant: Carpal tunnel can suck it.  Rave: My sister called, and we decided that after the baby is born she's coming to visit both to see the baby and to go out for epic Bloody Marys with me.

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc)  No.  (except for the bag of cookies I snuck into the hospital bag to surprise DH with.)

How are you feeling? 38 weeks pregnant basically ...

Appointments/Updates? At my 37 week appointment last week the nurse measuring me commented on how nice my belly skin works - no stretch marks (yet). That made me feel great because she sees a lot of pregnant bellies!

Rants/Raves:

Rave: An old man at the coffee place this morning asked when I was due, when I told him 2 weeks his instant response was "you don't look that pregnant at all". It felt great!!

Rant: The HR department at my work is the WORST. I've been calling and emailing my rep for 4 days to confirm that she got all my mat leave and insurance paperwork and she hasn't called me back. And apparently she does not check her voice mail. I'm going to call again right now actually, since I'm thinking about it.

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc) 

My co-workers gave me a spa giftcard before I left for mat leave, so I'm going to get a pedicure tomorrow I think.

Week/Fruit: 36/Honeydew

How are you feeling? Feeling ehh, working is taking a lot out of me, especially to coming home with a threenager. Stopped taking the procardia over the weekend, so now its contraction town....

Appointments/Updates? No appointments until next week....

Rants/Raves:

Biggest rant....why does there have to be 29 days of school left when I've got 22 days of leave....would love to just be able to be done and not feel guilty since my husband hasn't been cleared to go back to work yet from his gall bladder surgery.

Rave: My co-workers have been so supportive, I've got two very close friends (one is also pregnant) and they help me with so much.

Probably not, I'll save my indulgences for after wards when I plan on getting a haircut.....I don't feel like leaving the house to do anything else. I walked around Target on Saturday with my sister and I was in such pain that it didn't seem pleasurable to go shopping ever again.

How are you feeling? I feel pretty good other than the general aches and pains that come with being 39 weeks pregnant. I'm ready for him to be here!

Appointments/Updates? Next appointment is Thursday.

Rants/Raves: Rave- It's my last week of work for the school year! Rant- I still have a good bit to wrap up at work before I leave on Friday.

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc) I'm not planning on it, but my feet are pretty rough. If I am not in labor by 40 weeks I might take some time next week (since I'll be off work) to go and get a pedicure. The foot massage they give you can help induce labor, right? Lol!

Week/Fruit: 37/wintermelon (really?!)

How are you feeling? Energy is ok still but my sleep is crappy and my pelvic pain is pretty horrendous. Also incredibly nervous about my ECV tomorrow and have banned myself from any googling today to avoid augmenting it. I have enough irrational fears as it is.

Appointments/Updates? ECV tomorrow morning...I really really REALLY want her to turn (safely) for mommy! Otherwise had my MFM today and she is doing very well, lots of hair, and was hiccuping on the u/s!

Rants/Raves: seriously pelvic pain- WTF!

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc) i think the plan for Mother's Day is pedicures with my Mil and SIL so that counts right?

Week/Fruit:  38, pumpkin (holy shit that's huge)

How are you feeling?  Just about ready to be done.  Awkward, huge, increasingly uncomfortable. 

Appointments/Updates?  My 38 week appt. was this morning, and everything's looking good.  

Rants/Raves:  My mom had a surgery today, but it seemed to go pretty well.  I'm still working six days a week.  I want to clean everything but my energy is nonexistent.  However, like I said above, my midwife says my cervix looks "favorable" and that I'm overall in great shape for labor... woohoo!

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc) Nope, just bringing stuff I already have to try to make my stay as comfortable as possible (heated wrap, massager, my own stuff to wear, etc.)

Week/Fruit: 1 week old today!

How are you feeling? Still sore from my csection. Super swollen and no end in sight for that to go down.

Appointments/Updates? Saw the MFM and the pediatrician today. I'm good just swollen and babies are awesome! They've gained weight and are only 7 ounces each from their birth weight. No jaundice so very thankful!

Rants/Raves: rant: ugh this swelling and the pain from the csection is getting old. I can't wait to feel like a normal human again. It's been 6+ months since I've been pain free.
Rave: DH is so wonderful with the babies. He gets up with them and changes them and has no complaints at all. He's been really busy doing a lot around the house too. He's just wonderful!!

GTKY: Are you buying/getting any "special indulgences" for the hospital/labor? (pedicure, new jammies, etc) I got a pedicure and had new Jammie's that we're nursing friendly at the hospital.

Week/Fruit: 39/watermelon

How are you feeling? Fine for the most part. Last night I got a hour worth of lightning crotch, hope that means baby is dropping, still feel like my belly is in the same spot.

Appointments/Updates? 39 wk appt this Thursday. Last appt I was about 1cm dilated so this time they said they'd strip my membranes if I want, I'm thinking yes!

Rants/Raves: Raves: I've finally gotten baby's bed, car seat, packed my hospital bag and washed all of LO's clothes. Rants: We are still going through a remodel and I feel so stressed! Our new place won't be ready until June but I'm scared I'll go into labor and they'll need to know our selections on materials for random things.

GTKY: I'm planning on getting a mani/pedi tomorrow and getting a new robe, probably in black since I've been hearing stories about blood stains, eeek!
