Insurance coverage

When I go back to work in the fall, my insurance coverage is such that up to 6 attempts of IVF are covered *IF* FSH is under 25.  Mine is no where near 25, but our donor's was 7 when it was checked prior to retrieval.  So my question is, how many people have had success with insurance companies covering things that they don't normally cover because it's not our cells being used?  I'm not sure I'll be able to use this insurance this year anyway because of my start date to work is after when we want to do the FET, but I'm curious for future knowledge.

Coverage for donor egg IVF was totally different under my insurance and had different criteria than OE IVF. I used up all my coverage already so we were OOP for the program we are in now but they still covered my bloodwork/ultrasounds/testing. The insurance company should have a written policy you can get that governs use of donor eggs.

Yes, our policy has separate coverage for DE and surrogacy as well. Call your insurance's customer service and they should be able to go over your benefits. These will vary from plan to plan.

Our insurance covered the bulk of our DEgg cycle except the donor fee and clinic admin fee. There was a specific policy for DE coverage that was listed in over coverage documents.
