Q for those who have used a stash for multiple kids

I have been buying a lot of diapers lately that we don't need on the assumptions that:  a. we can use them for multiple kids and b. a larger stash means less wear on each diaper leading to a longer diaper life.  We only have N now, and plan on having 3 or 4 kids, each about 2 years apart.  Right now I have a ridiculous number of cloth diapers (35 BGs- 4.0s, Elementals, old style Elementals, and Freetimes, 3 Simplex, 6 Blueberry pockets, 20 TTs, 4 RaR, and about 12 Sustainablebabyish- HLCs and OBFs) and only one in diapers.  I think my newborn stash will last well through most of our children since we only used them for about a month, but I'm wondering how much of our regular stash is going to last.  I know I will have to replace the diapers that get used the most, but I'm wondering if all of my diapers are going to need replaced in about 4 years or so regardless of how much they are used.  

So what do you think?  Does having a very large stash really help a lot?  Am I going have to replace a lot of these?  BTDT moms how are your stashes holding up?

You might have 1 or 2 delaminate and a few that will need new elastics eventually. However, they should last you through all of your kids. Just take care of them well.

I'm with you there. I thought I was the crazy TT lady and I dodn't have 20 TT... yet :P.

Thanks ladies!  I just found out about TT this year, and can't believe I already have that many.  I credit the B/S/T website for most of them.  There's no way I could afford all of those NIP.  A lot of the ones I have bought were washed but not worn, or worn a couple times.  And I found my unicorn (a Very Hungry Caterpillar diaper) so I'm trying to be good for a while

I figured I would have to replace some elastic/throw a few out, but I was hoping most of them would last for a long time if I am careful with them.  

Now I need to take a stash shot when I have most of them clean!

I think I'm only up to 10 TT's, but I'm on 2 custom groups and have a 6 month TT of the month subscription. I'll catch up eventually . We only get special prints though. We're very picky.

I have 15 here, 2 on the way, and 3 group customs in the works. I'm out of storage so I need to stop buying them .

I used mostly prefolds/covers for the first 6-8 months, and then as DS got mobile and squirmy started to use more pockets and AIOs. So we are probably looking at about 16 months of partial to intensive use on my OS diapers. I have always hung my pocket shells up to dry and they are holding up much better than my oldest AIOs, which I have mostly just put in the dryer with the prefolds and inserts. I'm starting to notice a bit of wear and tear on the AIOs, both on the absorbent inners (some thinning of the fabric and small holes) as well as a bit of friction wear on the PUL, mostly around the elastic.

While I'm sure the AIOs would look better if I hung them dry, I tend to be impatient and I also don't like my diapers to get stiff and crunchy, so I have just put them in the dryer with the view that if they wear out, I'll have an excuse to buy more diapers.

I should also say that while we only have one kid, we are planning on using these diapers on one more. I have sold some diapers that I really didn't like. I keep thinking about selling more of my least favorite diapers, but I like them enough to keep them and get more use out of them. The diapers are already past the point of almost new, but since they are good quality brands they will retain their value.

I really, really want the boy April dotm though.

Their fans page runs custom fabric groups and enter them each month for a chance to win a slot.  This way you can get special TTs. TT also does a surprise diaper of the month club. so each month I get a surprise TT.

I currently have 3 in diapers and my stash has held up extremely well! I have had one pocket delaminate and one other a couple snaps have broken off in the wash. Also some have pilly microfleece, but other than that, I am very impressed. Most of my stash is RaR pockets, but I also have some blueberries and home made pockets.

Twinkie Tush is the company. They are a small WAHMie company that makes designer fitteds. They are very nice, but pricey. She does ship to Canada though.

I have two TT and in 1 customs currently. I am also now venturing into some other WAHM fitteds. I am trying to be picky though.
