Opinion on Cherry Cola Red Hair...Yes or No?

So... I'm curious if the cherry cola red hair can be pulled off in a professional office environment? I've never really hesitated when choosing a hair color, and I'm headed to the salon tomorrow to at least switch it up somehow, but I do find myself wondering if this red hair can go with blouses & slacks? I work as a social worker for career placement and have a tan/medium dark completion... I've always thought it looked good on women I've seen rocking it (like the ones in these pics) But I have a lot of all staff events & traveling to multiple offices coming up, so i thought for once I'd think twice before jumping in! lol

Opinions...

I like it and think you could rock it in the corporate world, although I would go with the dark cherry cola.

Eta: image fail. Just google dark cherry cola.
  • I think the color is really pretty, but if someone's hair is an obvious unnatural color I have a hard time taking them seriously. What color is your hair currently? Is it natural?

If it's like this, then yes it could be pulled off in the corporate world.

Awesome! The ones OP posted seem brighter to me. This could work!

  • I think you could get away with it, but you'd need to balance it to make sure you still look professional. Just personal opinion, but bright colors like that tend to skew toward casual/youthful, so you'd need a more mature hair style and your clothes would need to look fabulous so that you are still taken seriously. Also, you'd need to maintain the vibrant shade and not let it fade or show roots. Does that make sense? Just my 2 cents. :) You could totally rock it out.

Really appreciate the positive feedback! @rfred20 and @LinnyF I'm really like that red color you both mentioned, I think it's a bit more toned down and easier to pull off. I'm going for it, but I will keep it maintained, my friend owns a salon and we tend to get together on Sundays lol the only day we're both not crazy busy! I get the VIP treatment & she makes extra weekend cash  and i think my outfits are very professional meets Pinterest trendy. A black skinny jean with a sheer high low cut blouse and cute under tank and a leather bootie shoe, or a Capri slack with professional sandal paired with a printed blouse & plain cardigan with high bun hair style...This is usually as casual as I get...these examples are like casual Fridays... I've only gotten compliments on them (to my face lol) and my hair color now is dark brown underneath and a copper chestnuty brown on top. Natural color is dark brown. My skin color is... like Tia & Tamera Mowry... lol super light but not really dark. I honestly wither wanted this red or a midnight gloss black... but I just don't know if I want to commit to black... so hard to come back from..
  • I did black once if you are not 199% sure go with the red lol. It took a lot to come back from black

  • I love this colour! I do like the darker shade best. I think you could definitely rock it in the workplace

  • I've had my hair that color. I loved every second of it. Be prepared to be called Ruby. I took on that nickname for awhile, I didn't really care tho.

From this color I went to platinum blonde. It took all of 4 hours of my life and a really good colorist. I say do it. If you don't like it, it's far easier to strip red than black.

Are you going to go with the purple undertones or more golden? If you do purple it'd be easier to go to black from there, if you do golden it's easier to lighten.
  • The twin reference makes me feel old! But i just saw about them having a new show and kids and made me think of them!
  • I've always wanted to dye my hair that color. I have zero balls.

  • I personally think it would work in your work environment but possibly not in a true corporate environment. I would keep it darker vs. brighter.
  • A darker color is pretty but a brighter one probably wouldn't fly, at least where I work. My company is pretty conservative though.
  • Drum roll please..... The final result! Subtle cherry cola!
