I was tooling around on Pinterest earlier and saw where Adamwife had pinned some things about her Myers-Briggs personality type. That got me thinking...
What's your personality type?
I'm an ISTJ. People are always surprised when they hear that I'm an introvert. While I'm really social, I don't draw my energy from social situations. Mama's got to re-charge!
I don't remember mine, but I do remember that am that Introvert person too who likes to get out and be social but who also draws energy and recharges from being on my own.
Can I just say Myers-Briggs is one of the best personality tests? I get such a wide variety of results from taking other personality tests (sometimes different results on the same test when taken over), but I have gotten pretty much the same result from MB each time I've taken it with the only variances being in how much I fall under each section. That's good stuff.
Another INFJ here. Just ran a workshop with a collaborator that specialized in Myers Briggs so think way too much in those terms. I think we INFJs must hang out on the internets a lot, as we are supposed to be quite rare but there always tend to be a bunch of us online. I am on the cusp between J and P but tend to lean J.
That reminds me of this:
I think the reason I am on the internet so much, as an INFJ, is that I do desire human interaction, but have an even stronger desire for solitude. I've talked before about how I can go weeks without leaving my home and be perfectly happy. The internet is my social outlet.
We ARE supposed to be rare, so it's surprising to me that there are so many of us on this board!
It's also interesting that there are so few E people on here. Though even my description says that I require alone time to recharge which is probably true.
It fits. Type E are more likely to spend their time socializing in the "real" world. Type I are more likely to want to control the level of social interaction they have on any given day, and likely spend a lot more time establishing "relationships" in controllable venues like forums.

That's what I was thinking. As an introvert, I like that online forums are asynchronous. If I need to step back and take some me time, I just log off for awhile and no one really cares. In real life, you can't just walk away mid-conversation to recharge, at least not without being considered horribly rude. ;-)
Well, to be fair, we're also the only two INTJs to post here so far - agreement between us can't be entirely chalked up to unbiased statistical accuracy lmfao (but I'm going to pretend it is, anyway - obvs the internet is for introverts. and porn)

(and yes, I strongly adhere to a "log out" lifestyle... I have my family and my employment - they take priority - if I'm socially overwhelmed or tired of humans, maintaining a "virtual" social life allows the most flexibility to escape and go do something else without everyone feeling abandoned or needy lol)

I took the test again and got INFP. After reading about both INFP is pretty dead on. Vero your the lone ENFP I guess. They are cool people though, so good type to be!
I knew it!
This has plagued me my entire life, even online haha:
May come across as eccentric, or perhaps even generally strange to others, without being aware of it

I'm not a strong E and definitely need time to myself to recharge, but I also desperately need people time. I love you all, I do, but to be honest the reason I'm on here so much is because right now I don't have time to make new real-life friends after my friends moved away a few years ago and we moved last year. I'm hoping that changes as the girls get a little older, but since we're still planning a 3rd child, it's still going to be a while. So you're stuck with me for a couple of years yet
