Well, they played a word association game with myth/buzzwords for MFI and the following came up:
1. Boxers vs briefs = research is too weak 2. Laptops and cellphones = research too weak 3. Bicycling = ok if not excessive exercise 4. Pot doesn't mess with sperm count but does mess with overall health 5. Testosterone supplementation not a good idea if TTC (can lower count?) 6. Alcohol is ok on occasion (they recommended no more than 3 or 4 drinks per week). 7. Varicocele surgery can help around 70% get better sperm parameters, around 40% go on to achieve pregnancy
They didn't touch on vitamins or anything that I heard, but I also had to leave my car for a few minutes so I'm sure I missed something!
I took all of that at face value, because they also kind of poked fun at OPKs and apps for women who ovulate regularly. The idea was that sperm is meant to live outside of a guy's body for days (in the woman's reproductive tract, anyway), so if you can ballpark the time of ovulation, that's as good as pinpointing it with charting/OPKs. It was oddly calming and off-putting at the same time. One side of me felt like I could relax, while the other side of me was still begging for SOME control over this whole bitch of a process. Centering my life around ovulation is how I manage to get that control, lol.
Those were the things that I remember! You can listen on-demand at sirius radio online, but it's a pay service. I only get the service in my car because I'm too cheap to pay for the online stuff!
