39 weeks and fell sideways

I hit the arm of the couch just under my ribs on my left side. DD is still active, no bleeding or contractions , it's a little sore when I breathe but nothing too painful. Should I be concerned or give it a few hours. Using a heating pad on my ribs for the soreness.

  • Give it a while. I'm sure though its going to hurt for a while! Ouch - glad your okay.

Take it easy. My co-worker fell down the stairs and cracked her rib - baby was fine but she was sore for quite some time :( and there was nothing they could do.

  • My lower back has gotten worse too. Ah the joys of the final weeks. Hoping she comes on time because I am working my butt off to get my finals done early, three papers finished and my last day of work is Wednesday. Sigh come one DD give me four more days! You come after 6 pm on the 30th! Lol
  • I'd say as long as she is moving normally and you aren't bleeding it will be fine. Of course it doesn't hurt to check with your OB either.

  • I would check with your OB to be safe. They might want to monitor for several hours to make sure placenta didn't partially detach.

  • Dr said as long as I have not noticed anything different and LO is still active I am good to go....on a side note I am now having contractions. I am timing now and while painful and annoying they aren't long and unbearable. Been doing the walking thing and using warm showers to help. Most of the tightness is in my thighs and lower back. Here's hoping....
