Intro from Alberta - Cycle 57 was the charm!

We've been trying for over 4 years without a single BFP so we're still both in shock. I've never been more than 2 days late in that whole time so when it didn't show on Feb 27th I started making up excuses - just assuming that my period would show tomorrow. Well, by the Tuesday it finally actually entered my mind (which I brushed off), but then Wednesday I started to get pretty antsy so I decided on the way home from work Thursday I would pick up a few dollar store tests.

I came home, peed on the stick, put on my PJ's and about 1 1/2 minutes later looked at the test again. The line was almost as dark as the control line, and I just couldn't figure it out. I mean, I've been on the boards for years looking at test pictures helping them try and figure out if they could see a line or not, and mine was there pinker than pink. I threw my clothes back on, rushed to the drug store and grabbed a few digitals, and headed back home (I'd had the foresight to save the urine, just in case...). The Yes popped up right away, and I couldn't stop smiling!

I just left the tests on the bathroom counter with my phone, and when DH got home I asked if he could grab my phone for me. When he went upstairs and saw the tests he just called down "are you ovulating?" - getting all ready to drop trou I just said "no" and left him for a second. He came out of the bathroom with a confused look on his face and saw me standing there smiling, and his face went totally blank and he hopped down 2 stairs and mouthed "are you pregnant?!?" I just smiled and nodded, and he shot down the stairs and scooped me up in a huge flurry of hugs and kisses. It was awesome!! I'm so glad to be here with you all!!

It's been a rough road so far, 2 bouts of significant bright red blood, (one in Cuba!) RH negative - but they forgot to give me the Rhogam until 84 hours after the bleeding, and some pretty intense symptoms made worse by my GERD and IBS. But my ultrasound at 6w1d was perfect, and the heartbeat was loud and clear at 10w1d so it's all worth it (though I'm waiting with baited breath for my NT scan next Friday!)
