Increased Movement - 37weeks

LO is SUPER active this am...rolling and kicking and this has been going on for at least an hour. She is always active but typically for shorter periods. I had BH last night and increased pelvic pressure and pain. What does LO typically do as far as movements if you are going into labor?

Re: Increased Movement - 37weeks

  • DS was super active all the way to the end -- I remember him visibly writhing around and punching and kicking in church the day before I went in for my Cytotec placement -- but I never went into labor. I just had a rowdy baby.

There is no set activity level for labor but as you progress in pregnancy the baby's resting cycles may change. Think of infants -- when they are born they are typically awake only 1-2 hours at a time and sleeping for perhaps 2 hours at a time. As they mature their wake cycles become longer, as do sleep cycles.

This is what I was told last week. Some days my baby is moving around so much it's uncomfortable. Other days she just does her norm. My doctor told me all moms will report that there are more active days than others.
