High-Risk Pregnancy

MS anyone?

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to ask if anyone has MS, if so are you considered high risk? I have read reports that most MS symptoms disappear while pregnant, and most women feel great.  We are currently TTC and just wanted to see what other women have experienced.  If I am posting on the wrong board please tell me.

Thanks,

Re: MS anyone?

  • Hi, I have an MS diagnosis but haven't had any symptoms in about three years. I stopped copaxone when began TTC (four years ago) and that was actually against my neurologist's advice. My OB does not consider me high risk b/c of the MS. I'm 21 weeks pregnant and have not had any MS related problems. Although my doctor did say that while the conventional wisdom used to be that MS and all AI diseases got better in pregnancy they now believe that 1/3 get better, 1/3 get worse, and 1/3 stay the same - but I've never looked up any actual data! Let me know if you want to talk more about this!

  • Thank  You so much, I really appreciate it.  I was dx in September 2013 and started Rebif immediately. I went off in January because we really wanted to start TTC and I wanted it out of my system completely before trying. My symptoms seem fine without the med, hopefully it stays that way. Fingers crossed for you for a quick, symptom pregnancy.
