Twins & Position for delivery

I'm curious to see when your babies flipped head down and stayed that way? I am almost 26 weeks w/ Di/Di boys and my doctor said via ultrasound on Monday that the boys are in perfect position for delivery (of course they need to bake much longer =) and he also said that the chances of them flipping breech again are pretty slim. I just wanted to see what you ladies experiences were.

edit: smiley face was crazy looking lol

Re: Twins & Position for delivery

  • My babies were head down from 20 weeks on.  I attempted a vaginal delivery but had a c-section.(not due to their positions, I developed a fever)

  • Baby A has been head down pretty much since the beginning. Baby B used to go between transverse and head down but has been head down since about 24 weeks. I'll be 36 weeks on Sat.
  • Baby a was head down the whole time. Baby b flipped to head down at 35 weeks. I had a C section though because they were IUGR and mono-di.

  • Mine were also both head down around 20 weeks and stayed that way for the remainder of my pregnancy. My vaginal deliveries went perfectly without a hitch! I hope this will go for you as well!
  • My boys switch all the time still, they were both breech last week and now one is breech and the other transverse. I am curious to see Tuesday what they are, we went ahead and scheduled a c-section already just to have it "in the books" but if they both end up head down I am going to attempt a vaginal.

My baby A flipped to breech at about 25/26 weeks and hasn't moved since (I'm 32 weeks). MFM said there's a chance he could flip, but it's unlikely at this point. I'm going to be scheduling a c-section, but they'll check positions regularly just in case.

  • Both were head down for weeks. Baby B flipped breech sometime after Baby A's water was broken... You just never know.

  • Mine flip flopped daily until 33 weeks and 6 days. I had a quick easy vaginal delivery with a midwife since A flipped head down a few seconds before it was time to push. You never know until D-day.

  • Baby A has been breech since 28 weeks. I don't think he's moving. He's also big - 80th%ile and at -1 station, so lowish in my pelvis. B who is smaller about 1.5 lbs smaller at least flipped sometime between yesterday and today (was breech at my NST/US yesterday) was head down at my OB appointment today. I"m 37+2.

  • Baby A flipped breech at 19w and stayed that way. He was/still is smaller and his bum was wedged into my pelvis. Baby B was/still is bigger and flipped up until the end. I delivered at 34w after my water broke spontaneously.

  • At 32 weeks both were head down. At my NST today (34 weeks) the OB couldn't find baby B so he got out the ultrasound machine and she had completely flipped and now they are both transverse but b is more breach than anything else. I actually felt her flip yesterday, it was really uncomfortable. She has more fluid than baby a so it's possible she could flip again but unlikely as they're getting pretty squished in there

  • I'm at 28 weeks and both babies flip at least daily still.
  • My babies still flip back and forth, though for the past few weeks they've surprisingly stayed vertex (A) and breech (B). Not sure how it will go on game day, we'll just have to wait and see!

  • Baby A was always head down and Baby B flipped head down by 20 weeks. They both stayed in that position until delivery at 34w5d. Was able to do a vaginal delivery also.

  • Great thread!  Neither of our twins have been head-down for an u/s yet, so I'm still holding out a little bit of hope that they'll find their way into the right position in time for delivery.  We're 31wk2d today, so there's still time.  Yesterday, they were both transverse (I apparently have baby bunk beds in my belly!).  I'm in the mindset for a C-section, since they've always both been breech or transverse - having both turn head-down and attempting a vaginal delivery would be a game day surprise for us!
