moving back question- did you/do you use a bottle sanitizer?

So I anticipate having several of these "how do you raise a baby in the States?" type questions, so bear with me.

l'm going through all my baby stuff to decide what to ship home and what to sell here. I used a microwavable bottle sanitizer with my son, since we don't have dishwashers in Kenya. We'd hand wash the bottles then zap them to be safe.

Do y'all do that in the States, or is running them through the dishwasher just as good?

We had a countertop steam sterilizer.  MH thought it was really silly.  But we had a LOT of issues with thrush, so it worked out really well.  I liked being able to sterilize teethers and nipples and stuff without having to run the dishwasher.  But once we got past the thrush, we relied solely on the dishwasher.  I think it just all depends on preference.

I only used one bottle a day because I was breast feeding.  My DH would give her 1 bottle of BM a day.  Every day I would boil the bottle & nipple for 5 minutes...until my sister told me I was nuts that the dishwasher would sterilize it just as well.....so my answer.... dishwasher will be fine!

I either soaked and handwashed or used the dishwasher.  We never had a sanitizer.

I used the microwave sterilizer before first time use. Then I just hand washed. I did use the dish washer a couple times but I don't think it would clean them as good as I do.

We didn't use the bottle much b/c I EBF and M wouldn't take a bottle most of the time.  But the times we used bottles, I either hand wash with soap, or dishwasher.  Every now and then I'd boil it (but definitely not after each use).

We did it with the top rack of the dishwasher, sani-cycle.

dishwasher for sure.  then if they got really nasty, I would boil on the stove top

We used the dishwasher for bottles.

I took my sterilizer back! We handwash the bottles. I've never put them through the dishwasher for whatever reason.

I guess I am an anomaly. We had a countertop sterilizer and I sterilized all of DSs bottles and sippy cups until he was one.

I never had one.  Just washed by hand.

Just wash by hand here which is crazy when I head back to work but it's fine. Never had any issues.
