DS update

Hi All

 

In case you are wondering we had two preliminary assessments done for DS.  One with the private doctor and one with the hospital.  Both concluded General Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  So private doctor is starting cognitive behavioral therapy next week which reading about and discussing with her I think will really work for him.  Hospital he is on the priority wait list so that should be 2-3 months so we will continue with private till that happens.  We feel relieved and glad we can have a game plan.  The Doctor was concerned we would be upset but we dealing with this so long and have accepted quite some time ago that there were issues and are ready to move on and work with him. Feeling very positive about things over all.

I have had both diagnoses at different parts of my life starting very young and cog/beh therapy worked wonders for me.  I hope the same for DS.
