Hey, everybody! I'm 20 weeks pregnant with baby number two, and we're looking at video baby monitors. Ours just bit the dust, so we need a new one sooner rather than later. (We still use one for DS because you can't always hear him from our room, and he's still in a crib.)
I want one with two cameras (or that comes with the option of buying a second camera) so we can have one in each child's room, and I want one that will automatically switch from one camera to the other if the child whose camera isn't currently up on the screen starts to cry... if they even make that. I've started checking out reviews on Amazon, but I'm a little wary of that, since the one that just broke had a four star rating on Amazon, and we've had tons of problems with it. So I was hoping someone on here could recommend one that they have and love.
We're not too concerned about price since we won't need to buy much in the way of baby gear for child #2. I'd rather pay more for a good one than buy the cheapest one and be annoyed with it... like last time.
When I was looking, I wasn't able to find one that was noise activated switch. We have the Motorola 3.5" screen and love it. We have 2 cameras and the picture is very clear. You can set it to be on one room or to toggle between the two rooms automatically (stays on one room for 8 seconds, then switches for 8 seconds, then switches itself back over and over). It has a talk function which came in handy when DS1 was sneaking out of bed to play when we were putting him to bed awhile ago. You can pan and tilt as well as zoom. Ours has been going strong for over 2 years now with no issues. The parent unit battery has started to not hold a recharge but it's a cheap battery to replace, I'm just lazy and haven't ordered it yet.
Thanks, @JENandJEH and @hbrockman01! I'll check those both out. I'm thinking that the cycling between the two cameras (rather than sound activation) might be my only option, but I didn't even know that was an option until now.

This is what we have too! I really like it and just bought the second camera in preparation for #2.

This.... I love our Motorola camera.... We only have one camera, but I love the fact that we can add a second one to the system.

We have this same monitor and love it. While we don't have two babies (yet) I think it will work really great when we do. I love the pan and tilt and the zoom is great. The picture is also really clear.
Add me to the Motorola camp! Another pro is that they have really good customer service - my receiver recently stopped working and they sent me a brand new set even though it was past the one year warranty mark.
I'll chime in about the excellent customer service at Motorola as well. We've had ours for over 2 years and the A/C adapter was starting to fray. I called to purchase a replacement and was told that they don't sell replacement parts but that I could enter the model number on Amazon and the universal adapter that fits it would show up. I did that but found that it had TERRIBLE reviews so I called them back. I got a different customer service agent and explained the situation. She told me that since it was out of warranty, she didn't think she would be able to do anything but to let her check. She placed me on hold and came back to let me know that she was sending me an A/C adapter free of charge. I would say that's excellent customer service for a product that is over 2 years old at this point!

That's what we have and LOOOVE and we plan to get the 2nd cam when this baby is born. I have recommended this monitor to everyone who even asked for my opinion. It really is fantastic. Big Motorola fan here.
