GD amd insulin

If you are on insulin, when did you go on it? I had GD with my 2nd pregnancy and it was all diet controlled.  This time I have it again and I am about 26 weeks (diagnosed earlier) and still diet controlled. I was curious if it gets worse later on and the 2nd time.

Hi I know this post is old but I was just put on insulin this week. I had GD with my DD1 11 years ago but was able to control it with diet. Because of my and my families history my OB decided to just skip the glucose test and start me on the diet and testing. I'm only having trouble really in the mornings but since I am only 16 weeks I was told it does get worse as the baby gets bigger which is why they put me on insulin now. But I was told the 3rd trimester is when it gets the worst so if you are able to control it at 26 weeks I'm guessing you should be able to through the end. I don't know if the 2nd baby has anything to do with it but for me I'm just 11 years older and 30 lbs heavier.
