Sunning

Dumb question -- do diapers have to be wet for sunning out stains to be effective?  I'm about to pack away my newborn dipe stash (all GMD prefolds and fitteds), but never got a chance to sun them because it was always freezing out.  Now that the weather is finally nicer, I figured I'd try to sun out the stains before storing them, but wasn't sure if I need to run them through a rinse cycle first, or if I can just put them outside dry.  Thanks!

Re: Sunning

  • Yup, diapers need to be damp! :) When it's chilly out, I just put my really bad ones in a sunny window.

  • You can hang them up and then spray them with a squirt bottle.

  • Thank you both!  That's good to know that I can sun them indoors if I need to!
