I don't have much to update on! DH is still taking pills :P This is going to be a looooong 3 months ...

QOTW: My dream job was to be a singer, even though I am super shy IRL. I did choir and vocal class in high school. I was also part of our school's musical group "Serendipity" which was our version of "Glee" before it was a TV show lol (never watched it). But that was the end of my music career lol.

I always found healthcare fascinating, so I'm actually a Medical Laboratory Technologist (in the U.S. the job is called Medical Laboratory Scientist). I am the person at the other end of your blood work actually analysing it (I am not the person who pokes you! Although I have been trained to do it :P) I'm the one who verifies the beta result your doctor gets. I could also work in a fertility clinic lab. I did apply for a job once at one (way before I ever thought I'd need one). Needless to say I didn't get the job. How handy that would have been!  But I did do SA's at one lab I used to work in. Sooo not fun. Gross gross gross! Luckily my shift rarely had to do them lol.

  • Not much to update, just not so patiently waiting for our wtf appt in a few weeks.

QOTW: I wanted to be a veterinarian as a kid. Once I realized that ALL kinds of animals go to the vet, not just cute dogs and cats, that dream was shot. I'm deathly terrified of birds lol.

  • 1. What brings you over to the bench? I over responded on my first round of clomid so my first cycle was cancelled.

    2. How long will you be staying with us?  At least a month.  Next month I'm away out of town the entire month for work training.  I'll have to wait until CD 1 to see if we will be able to attempt TI.  Next medicated cycle may be in June if my days line up with my training schedule.

    3. How do you feel about being benched?   I was really happy that I responded to the clomid since my AFC was low and my AMH is also on the low side.  Can't do much about the work training, its paying for all these IF treatments.  :)

QOTW: What did you want to be (career-wise) when you "grew-up"?   When I was younger, a dancer on Solid Gold.  You Tube that if you don't know what it is, its full of 80's awesomeness.  Later on a teacher or librarian.

  • I'm slowly inching my way off the bench. Sticks missed my LH surge but blood work caught it in time. Now I just have to wait to start meds, then wait on AF, and then FINALLY start.
Ready to take the road less traveled.
  • 1. I'm benched because on my first medicated cycle I over stimmed, got OHSS, and when my cycle started at the scan they saw that my ovaries had lots of tiny cysts and the size of tennis balls.

    2. Probably this cycle, at minimum.

    3. Really bummed. This has caused issues in my job and I've basically been benched at my job because of my "medical issues." Which is this infertility crap. Everything just seems bad now.

QOTW- I wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer.... In college I realized I'm not a fan of any bodily fluids, so law it became.

  • I'm just hanging out chilling and counting down the days. I kind of like the birth control because everyday I take it I can see I'm one day closer to the end of the pack and we can try again. It's going to be super busy week at work next week, so it's probably for the best as I'm sure it would have been stressful juggling monitoring appointments and my workload. With that said, I'm a custom stationery designer (wedding invitations, party invitations, etc.) and it's wedding season in the paper industry since it's about 2-3 months before real wedding season. When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher, work for mission control at NASA, a storm chaser like the movie twister, a dolphin trainer, and then as I got older I wanted to work in advertising.

  • Nothing new to report here, same old same old.

QOTW:  I wanted to be a fashion photographer and live in Europe.  I still have my good cameras and all my dark room equipment.  Too bad film is practically extinct these days.

What do I actually do?  I'm a nurse.  I worked NICU and peds, but these days I do case management and diabetes education since I'm a diploma nurse and went back to school for my degree.  I don't love the position I am currently at but it pays well and I set my own schedule which is ideal for school.  I plan on going back to NICU after I graduate in December.

I'm on the bench. My RE is on vacation and then switching clinics, so she wont be starting to see patients until the end of May. If I wanted to stay at my current practice, it would be a similar timeline since they are adjusting and short staffed.

We are not happy about being benched since we finally have our game plan and are anxious to get going to IVF with ICSI. Hopefully we will only be benched for 3 weeks or so. We will see.

QOTD: I did my middle school report on wanting to be a Recreation Director, haha. Watch out Leslie Knope. I do some event management type stuff IRL on the side, so does count as making my little kid dream come true?

  • 1. What brings you over to the bench? Recent miscarriage.

    2. How long will you be staying with us?
I had my d&c yesterday and will need to wait at least one cycle before ttc. I may need to wait longer depending upon what results they find from tests that are done over the next month or two.

    3. How do you feel about being benched?
Mixed feelings. I just want to actively be doing something to get to our take home baby, bug also want some answers and solutions before getting pregnant again.

QOTW: What did you want to be (career-wise) when you "grew-up"?
It always rotated back and forth between teacher and nurse.

  • Hi Ladies, I am self benched right now. My last medicated cycle was a mess, low response, no obvious ovulation, so DH and cancelled the iui that cycle and I decided to take a cycle or two off to allow my body to re regulate. I am so glad I did, the next I ovulated early, and it feels like I am back on track this month for a normal cycle. I should ovulate in a few days, and I am hoping to try for an iui next cycle. At first I was really frustrated with taking a break, but I am glad I did, I feel like listening to my intuition was the best thing to do. I was busy at work and stressed out, and my body responded to it. Qotw: as a kid I wanted to work with animals, as a high school student and early college, I was leaning towards child psych. I ended up majoring in environmental studies, and have worked in sales for 14 years. It is funny where life takes you.
Me: 40, Hypothyroidism, well managed, TSH 1.99
DH: 44 Fine except for low morphology
    TTC since 02/2013
    08/13: Day 3 tests (ESTRADIOL 20.8; AMH 1.1; FSH 6.2)
    12/13 HSG, all clear
    11/13-5/14 - IUIs #1-3, BFNs,
6/14 to present: Taking a break, getting healthier, researching IVF
Planning for IVF in late summer 2015

  • 1. What brings you over to the bench? Husband is having Varicocele repair surgery next week

    2. How long will you be staying with us? Until he heals and his sperm hopefully improves

    3. How do you feel about being benched? its out of my control

QOTW: What did you want to be (career-wise) when you "grew-up"? Saturday night live host
Husband: MFI Counts 1-11mil, Mot 32%-50% Morph 2-4%
    Me: slightly underactive thyroid

  • 1. I'm here because I just had an ultrasound that confirmed a large cyst on my left ovary. We have been trying for a year and a half and I had a miscarriage last spring. So just one more things to add to our infertility resume!

    2. I'm benched for 3 months. My doc prescribed 3 packs of BC before another ultrasound to see if the cyst resolves itself. Then on to clomid in the fall, which I am very nervous about because my husband is a charter pilot on call 24/7 without a schedule. We may need to convince his boss to give him certain days off that line up with my cycle.

    3. I feel anxious, helpless, but hopeful. I'm taking these three months to focus on getting in awesome baby makin' shape and saving up some money.

QOTW: I wanted to be a meterologist and storm chaser. I'm actually a preschool teacher, which I really love but sometimes that maternal side gets to me and I really want to bring all my kiddos home!
  • 1. What brings you over to the bench? A "tumor" that is questionable in malignant status. More observation and hopefully a minimally invasive procedure to remove it and figure out what it is.

    2. How long will you be staying with us?A few months.
    3. How do you feel about being benched?Day at a time, some days are better than others. Some days I see the positive in being benched and some days I feel the "clock" ticking.
QOTW: What did you want to be (career-wise) when you "grew-up"? I wanted to be a vet and work with horses. I actually ended up being a FF/Medic/PHRN
