Electric sterilizers do you use them?

I have TT one n I'm trying to descale it but I've read that these electric ones can sometimes falter and don't sterilize bottles properly and could lead to bottles not being steril I pump sometimes in to my bottles so that's my concern. If you use them do you trust them or are you sterilizing things old school way pot n boiling water. I'm about to that article I read freaked me out it's convenient but not at cost of my baby girl's health. Chime in

Re: Electric sterilizers do you use them?

  • Every since LO had thrush I have started steralizing everytime. I use a microwave sterilizer and I trust it. If it's so hot it burns my hand, I think it's doing the trick.

  • I have the microwave TT sterilizer. I have no reason not to trust it.

  • I have an electric avent sterilizer. I thought it was silly at first but it's actually been pretty convenient and I've liked it so far.
  • Here is what I do...
    1. Rinse in cold water
    2. Soak in hot soapy water
    3. Wash in hot soapy water
    4. Every other day I Put parts in pot of boiling water for 5 minutes
  • Yes I wash the bottles in hot soapy water also n then sterilize as well. It's the descaling that has to be done every 4 weeks that left me wondering.
