Candy bar / buffet help

So for LO's birthday we are going to have a Candy Bar / Buffet at the dessert table and guests can take bags home has their favors if they choose. I however have never done anything like this before and thought it would be super easy but there is so much candy to choose from and so many websites. I feel overwhelmed lol.

Has anyone ever done one before or are you doing one for LO's party? How many types of candy are you choosing? What is your favorite website to find candy? Any tips , suggestions, opinions would be great.

Her theme is Pink Lemonade and our colors are pink and yellow :)

Re: Candy bar / buffet help

  • I had one at our wedding and to save money on what to put the candies in I used flower pots from Michaels and tied ribbon around them in my colors.  This was instead of buying expensive glass jars to have them in.

I only did wrapped candies because that is all the hotel would let me use.  I just did big bags of candy from like Sams Club.  Prob would be much cheaper for you.

Ive also seen on pinterest where they use like plastic toy sand buckets and shovels to scoop out stuff that would look cute with candy too?

  • Go to your local goodwill store. I found great big glass vases there for super cheap!

  • Thank you everyone!! I actually found some really nice glass jars with the chalk board labels at our Christmas Tree Shop for 2-4 dollars a piece!!

Our theme is pink and yellow and I just need to stop overanalyzing because after reading your comments it is a lot simpler then I am making it out to be! lol

    Thanks for the advice!

  • I was just in Party City last night - they have a lot of candy in solid colors. So you could buy lots of pink and yellow gum balls, rock candy, jelly beans, candy sticks, lollipops, etc. they also have bowls and hurricanes in all different sizes that were pretty cheap (under $5 I believe).
