Protocol Changes in last 2 years

I did my 1st IVF cycle in June of 2012 and am hoping to cycle this June again. I'm surprised how many little things have changed at my clinic, but one big one is that they won't do betas until 18 days after ET now. I always cheat before my blood test, but 18 days is like a 2.5WW! They said they were catching so many chemicals that this way they're more definitive, just do one blood test and move to US. Anyone else's clinic moving in this direction?
Married 6/08, TTC 7/09
MC w/ D&C 3/11 ~ 9.5 weeks
CP/MC 1/12 ~ 5 weeks
2 IUI's w/ BFN
IVF 6/12 ~ 8R, 0F ~ Rescue ISCI gave us 3dt of 2 (6 cell, 9+ cell)
DS born ~ 3/3/13
IVF 6/14 ~ Operation Sibling ~ 10R, 5F ~ 5dt of 1 Blast
Beta 1: 1600+, Beta 2: 4588

    I'm not sure what my clinic is doing, but I do know from personal friends and lurking on IF that this seems to be very common.
    Started TTC 2/2009
    Started fertility treatments 11/2010
    Ovarian dysfunction, LPD, male factor
    6 failed medicated IUI's
    Pregnant 5/2011 - Miscarriage at 6 weeks due to triploidy
    Decided to adopt - 6/2012
    SURPRISE! Pregnant without intervention - 7/2012 
    Sweet Baby James Born 3/2013
    Decided to be "One and Done"

    ....OR NOT.
    Pregnant 12/2018 despite birth control pills
    Here we go again...
    Due 8/26/19!

    My clinic did them 14-15 days after ET regardless of whether you did a 3dt or a 5dt. That felt so much worse than my IUIs, which were 14 dpiui. I can't imagine 18 days after ET!
    TTC in 2009, Dx: Unexplained IF
    Three TI cycles (BFP...miscarriage), five IUI attempts and 2.5 IVF cycles later...BFP!!
    12dp5dt: 765; 15dp5dt: 1979; 17dp5dt: 3379...TWINS!!!!!
    Our perfect baby boys were born at 36w1d!!

    My clinic has always waited until the equivalent of 18dpo prior to beta (they were nice enough to let me sneak in at 16dpo once rather than have to go in on the weekend). If they see a nice enough rise between beta #1 and #2, they don't do any additional betas before your first u/s around 6 weeks.

    DX: DOR and MFI 

     

    IVF w/ICSI brought us our 1st precious miracle

    TTC #2: IVF (MDLF) August/September 2012

    ER 9/7: 6R, 5M, 4F ET 9/12: 5dt of 2 blasts 

    +HPT 9/17! Beta #1 (9/25) = 1,000 Beta #2 (9/27) = 1,860 U/S #1 (10/11)...TWINS!

    1/8/13 - It's a..boy and a girl!!   

     

    S&B born via induction 5.8.13
